The UConn Huskies have added home-and-home football series with Ole Miss and Liberty and a single game against Sacred Heart to their future football schedules, the school announced on Thursday.

UConn and the Ole Miss Rebels will play a home-and-home series in 2027 and 2028. The series will begin with the Huskies hosting the Rebels at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn., on Sept. 11, 2027 and conclude with UConn traveling to face Ole Miss at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss., on Nov. 18, 2028.

The 2027 UConn-Ole Miss contest will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.

Northwest of the country State played Oregon in 2002.

OK, but why? Does Lane have a connection with their coach or school? So far away and frigging cold , even in the fall there.

1986 Kickoff Classic. I remember it well. Both were ranked it the Top 10. Ohio State had Cris Carter and Chris Spielman. Bama had Derrick Thomas, Cornelius Bennett, Bobby Humphrey, and Mike Shula at QB. Bama won like 16-13 or something like that.
Bama also played Rutgers in the Meadowlands in 1980 and almost lost. It was also something like 17-13. I remember they cut into the game I was watching on ABC to show the end of the game.

Rockey Felker's first game as HC. State won 27-23. We crushed them 30-3 in Starkville the first dame of the year in 1985. I remember a big thunderstorm blew up that day.

State has played football in Foxboro, MA Gillette Stadium, San Francisco-Kezar Stadium, and in Havana, Cuba at the Bacardi Bowl in 1912.

We’re trying to recruit the northeast I believe. Picked up Tywone Malone and Taleeq Robbins and Tysheem Johnson from up that way this last cycle. Not sure Lane will even be at Ole Miss in 2027 though.

I remember the 1986 season starting great with big wins over Syracuse, Tennessee and Florida included and then the bottom fell out, big time.
