The category you left off (the most important for you) is his ability to teach kids on how to take out players knees and ankles. Seems to be pretty good at that.

We also had a walk on LB starting for us who played like 90% of our snaps.
Outside of a few players, we had little to no talent on the defensive side of the ball last year.

No offense but I'm sold on Shoop either as of yet. Yeah he's gonna have huge talent to work with but that means nothing, I like the Moorhead hire but even then, new defense, new offense and we play K-State on the road out of the box. I love my dawgs as much as you do but I am scared to death.
And Thompson is the better QB but mark my words, Moorhead is not coming to MSU to get hated his first year. Fitz is the starter.

Moorhead is going to do well in 2018. It's 2019 that we will see exactly how good Moorhead will be. 2019 is a rebuilding year especially on the defensive side. Shoop don't have to be great. He just has to be good. I just want stability at DC. If I could make it through Sirmon, then I'm not worried about Shoop.

What are you seeing that says Thompson is a better Qb than Fitz right now? More upside maybe, but Fitz is better.
