any OM poster got any knowledge on Detraveon Brown’s alleged fake signing? I think paperwork got messed up and people are jumping the gun calling this a hoax when in reality it’s not.

From what I’m hearing it was fake and waiting on the school board to issue a statement. Supposedly he had a D1 offer but not to Ole Miss. He went ahead and followed through with it. I’m guessing he probably talked it up like he had an offer to friends and family and didn’t want to tell them. Or I could be completely wrong. That’s just what I’m hearing. Could all be hearsay.

Seen kids do that before but I'm also hearing they reinstated their offer last minute but pulled it again without ever telling him
Since I don't like Ole Miss I'm choosing to run with the latter explanation, Lane Kiffin is such a POS to play that poor kid like that and I hope future recruits take notice

He visited Ole Miss last weekend it looks like, so there was some interest on their part. Weird. Houston seems to have been the "real" offer he had.

A bunch of local news outlets have drug this kid into the mud without much information to go on...sad really.
Kid has since signed with North texas...They got a steal too because he's a really good player.

Ole Miss offered the kid a scholly but then they flipped another guy at the same position soooooo they pulled their offer from the kid. it's business but it sucks for the kid!

He gave an interview on Sunday saying he didn’t have an offer. Tried to get one by “picking” OM yesterday. Didn’t happen. Now playing the victim card.

Bingo. He said in an interview he didn't have an offer, but felt like he was close to one. Then a few days later sent out a tweet about "God closing doors" or something along those line which was the same time that a lot of noise started coming in about other WR's. He was never given an offer. I mean, TBH he could've honestly not understood the process either.
