5* WR from East ST Louis (I hear it's great there this time of year), just decommitted from OU and is now likely headed to Missouri or Georgia.

By most services, he's the either the top or 2nd-ranked WR in the country.

Guess that Journalism Schools is really important to these kids!

ESPN 300 wide receiver Luther Burden decommitted from Oklahoma on Tuesday after being committed to the Sooners since October.

Burden is the third ESPN 300 wide receiver to decommit from Oklahoma in the 2022 cycle, along with Talyn Shettron, the No. 26 prospect who flipped to Oklahoma State, and Jordan Hudson, who is ranked No. 43 and committed to SMU.

Burden is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound wide receiver out of East St. Louis High School in East St. Louis, Illinois, and is the No. 2-ranked receiver overall. Other schools have continued to recruit Burden, and while he decommitted from Oklahoma, the Sooners will still be in consideration, along with such schools as Georgia and Missouri.

I doubt it's our world renown J-school, it's actually a business decision per the recruit.

I imagine Mizzou or UGA can get him a better NIL deal than what he can land at OU. It's just business.

Mizzou offered him an entire city block of Columbia real estate valued at $3

You're going to see a lot more of Drink snatching recruits. He knows how to sell unlike Barry.

Yeabo. Barry is a great defensive mind, but he is/was not ready for that HC position. He needs to learn and understand the other pieces of the HC game (recruiting being one) before taking on another head coaching role.

Can someone please explain to me how a player will have better NIL opportunities at Missouri than he would at OU or Georgia, where the likes of ESPN and the CFB media devote 10-20x more attention throughout each year and the programs have much more of a national following?

Yaaaasssssss!!!! That's my coach! Passion. He is going to bring that same passion to help his players builder their brands and land huge NIL deals.

While Lincoln Riley is out there banging coeds, my coach is grinding. Doing work. Maybe these young men $$$$$$. It's all good business man.

Have you been to Norman? That place sucks.

I am chanting it right now. I probably should get on Twitter and start spamming S-E-C!! towards all the OU fans I can find.

Missouri is home to Anheuser-Busch, Hallmark, Precious Moments, Hiland Dairy, French’s Mustard, Panera Bread. Perhaps he wants to get paid well advertising an in-state company.

I don’t really understand all this new NIL stuff but my guess would be at OU or Georgia, you’re just another face in the crowd of 4 and 5 star talent. Chances are it’s going to take you longer to work your way onto the field, and local companies probably aren’t as interested in paying a 3rd stringer.

By going to Mizzou, you’re almost immediately “the guy” as a rare 5-star recruit. Local companies will be lining up for you to endorse them/work with that player, so $$$ opportunities are more immediate versus battling other 5 stars for exposure at OU.

Could be just talking out my arse though
