Draft position doesnt always define how good someone was as a college quarterback.

eh it generally doesn't mean they suck either.

You can be a great collge QB and not go #1. How many bad college QBs go number 1 thought?

Trevor Lawrence doesn't suck either.

Where did I say anyone "sucked"?

I said Burrow and Fields had better seasons statistically against better competition and Hurts was right there with him.

And the only reason Lawrence would be taken over Burrow (if he was taken over Burrow) would be a slightly longer career of consistently good numbers.

Again if field really has a significant better season next year than Lawrence why wouldn't he go #1?

My point is, Manning showed a low in college. He was #1 for a reason and it wasn't just the pedigree.

was the #1 overall pick though. So its not like he sucked.

I never said he sucked, I said it's laughable to call him one of the 4 best sec players. Stafford was the #1 pick too and I'd take a lot of QBs over him

Manning owned ThUGA. That’s for sure.

I recall tua, Joe burrow, and others who have similar stats to him but they have won More meaningful games.

Just speaking to this point....a team almost has to have a great QB to win a championship, but a great QB still can't win a NC without a good team around him. I have a hard time blaming a lack of championships on a QB. By the same token, I also have a hard time giving a QB all the credit for a championship.

Not really, the point is he isn't one of the 4 best sec players ever. Hershel, tebow, Joe burrow and even bo Jackson..were better players. Cam Newton and many more.

Bama was our biggest rival at the time.

Hahahaha no shot at bama...but Florida was clearly your biggest rival in the 90s. Bama wasnt bama today

Greg McElroy is destined to be an answer at trivia night though.

"Who was the starting QB of Nick Saban's only undefeated team?"

Bama did represent the west in the SEC championship game in two out of Peyton's 4 years.

Hmmm didn't your team do thug acts against Marcus Lattimore and Nick chubb??? But the point is, he is not a top 4 sec player...

I cannot imagine a worse way to spend my Friday night than to go back and forth debating the merits of Peyton Manning’s stellar collegiate career with a barely functioning mongoloid like BossBailey345 from the internet
