I haven't heard of Clemson fans and graduates going out of their way to sabotage South Carolina fans and graduates' lives and professions.

I don't know of two fanbases who legitimately despise each other like South Carolina and Clemson do. There's no respect whatsoever. I hope they lose in everything in the most excruciating way possible.

As an outsider, Clemson/USCe looks more hateful. Smaller state, closer more intimate population, overlapping recruiting territories. These are the only two things going... no pro sports, no other major college football programs in the state, no distractions.

plus columbia is a crack infested dump and Clemson is gorgous which makes them hate us even more for owning them. they have NEVER been relevent in football...ever.

Do you think South Carolina could ever reach success like Clemson has, or is there something unique that Clemson can do that South Carolina can't? Just curious.

My answer is not with the current way our BOT is constructed. Clemson has 13 BOT members, we have 18. Clemson has 7 trustees selected by the person leaving the BOT and 6 are appointed by the state legislature, with no geographical restrictions. All of USC's BOT members are appointed by the legislature. Not only that, every judicial district in SC has to have 1 BOT member. That means the Upstate has as much say in how USC is run than the Midlands, where the bulk of Gamecock fans and alums are. And there is no requirement that BOT members have a degree from USC.

you seem to view large public universities as being the same as community colleges.
SC has alumni and fans all over the state and country, as does Clemson.
