Ohio State is the first college football program to have four assistant coaches making at least $1 million annually, according to USA Today's assistant coaches salary database. Clemson had three assistants making $1 million last year, led by defensive coordinator Brent Venables' $2.2 million salary. Former LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda made $2.5 million in 2019.

And still won’t win a natty

Meh, they will win it again eventually. Wanna win a natty? Spend lots of $$$. I personally didn't like Aranda, but even his overwhelming pay led LSU to win one.
I did a study and created a model for this in an econ class. It's very interesting how money really buys the best.

Interesting. What was the correlation with success, money spent on coaching or overall recruiting, facilities, etc.?

The first but won't be the last. OSU is a blue blood who doesn't rest on their laurels. They will get theirs.

Go figure a Mississippi state fan talking about sucking. LOL

Mississippi State doesn’t pay four assistants $1M or hire a known PoS as a head coach.

I'll have to upload it sometime. It was last year before Dabo got his raise. It was a very simple model using a 5 point system evaluating many different categories of the top paid coaches.
The day I presented was the day before Dabo got his raise and my model basically agreed with the raise.
My professor wanted to publish my work, but I felt like he more so wanted to get credit, so never ended up doing it with him.

And yet, they gave us crap for Fisher's contract ... hypocrisy at its finest

To be fair, you guys severely over paid him. Hes worth top money, but I dont think it should've cost that. Especially during 100+ mil renovations. I get you guys have money, but there are reasons why people gave you crap.

This crap has gotten insane.

Highest AD budget in the NCAA @ almost $200M. They do have 37 sports to manage.

Fisher's contract
How many wins in how many years? aTm has money to burn, and I think Fisher is an excellent coach, but it's not correlating to 75M.
Lots o fans gave Alabama a ration after Nick's first money announcement, but he changed the entire culture in 2 seasons and has delivered 5 titles. I have to say Fisher isn't producing that kind of RoI...

They will still suck.
They were pretty damn good and were clearly better than Clemson.

They certainly throw a lot of money at a above average but relatively pedestrian athletic program.

Limping past harbaugh comes at a cost.

Its basically "house money" for profitable athletic programs. That SEC money every year is

You may want to revisit that thought.
