were still allowed to stand on the side lines with their team at the rose bowl? If so why?

IMO, if they opt out, they shouldn't be able to travel.

Your head coach left his team before their bowl game was played.

Because their teammates and coaches get it while message board warriors don’t

Because they are a big part of why OSU is in the game at all and OSU admin doesn’t resent them for their choice?

Most of these guys know where they are going to get drafted by about game 5

Why not just opt out then. What’s the point of playing

Nope. Opt out, you are done.

Imo if you opt out or announce youre in the portal you should be done with the team.

Was he on the sideline today?

I agree with the portal part of that. Absolutely absurd that Emory Jones started in the bowl game.

However, if you opt out because of the NFL draft, you likely were an important part of the program for the past few years and don’t deserve to be punished. Not to mention, the negative recruiting angle it can have.

Thats kinda the way i felt about it. I mean the rose bowl is pretty big game compared to say the texas bowl. OSU won but had they got blown out wouldnt that kinda look bad when all you top players said i'm more important than the team.

Bunch of pussies. Ohio State wide receiver room is stacked. Why not support the young guys and Jaxon? BTW, he’s why Williams transferred. Alabama benefits and so does Ohio State.

Other than bonuses, honestly if I’m a coach I don’t mind the opt-outs. Gives you some evaluation on potential starters for next year.

Easy to say now and luckily it was a pansy-12 champ but had things gone south i could see some butthurt between stars opting just to stand on the sidelines in a big game.

Yes, and have you ever seen this kids tape from playing in the best big hs mecca in America, the Dallas metroplex. It's beyond belief what he did in obliterating so many records. He is truly special and is just a true soph... What he did tonight with almost 350 yards is unimaginable.
