Auburn schedule

Washington *ATL W

Bama State W

LSU W

Arkansas W

USM W

@ MSU W

Tennessee W

@ Ole Miss W

A&M W

@UGA top 5 matchup L (really close FG type loss)

Liberty W

@ Bama probably #1 bama L (really close FG/TD type game)

10-2 Auburn only losses at a #1 and a top 5 both on the road and close games. In or out for Auburn under this scenario?

well I'd say it pretty obviously depends on whether you win the SEC or not.

No team has made the CFP with two losses. Ever.

Maybe but Fitzgerald has been awful against Auburn D and we don't really know how good JM will do as a HC in the SEC

It would be hard to keep that Auburn team out IMO

In his defense yall's D has been really stout the last two years. Last year was more yall's offense hitting some big plays than Fitz.

2 factors you haven't mentioned:

1) has AU won the SEC in thsi scenario? Because with 2 SEC losses you may not win the division, and a 2-loss non-division winner is probably getting left out

2) we don't know what the rest of the country is doing. If Clemson/OU/Bama/OSU are all 1-loss conference winners AU doesn't have a chance in hell.

They would have to win the SEC.

No team has made the CFP from California. Ever. They might as well stop trying.

No Auburn goes 10-2 6-2

Bama wins SEC over UGA

Just looking at the schedules for Alabama, Georgia and Clemson they will probably all be undefeated going into conference championship game weekend.

The winner of the Alabama-Georgia game will absolutely have a spot and the loser probably will too. Clemson will be the third team in the CFP and that doesn't include the Big 10, Big 12 or Pac-12.

A two loss Auburn isn't getting in.

Very little chance in that case. Would need a few 3 loss conference champs or something like that.

Out.If Aub is 10-2 with losses to Uga and Bama the sec championship game sets up like this. Bama will be 12-0 vs 11-1 Uga. Possibly 12-0. If Uga wins Uga is in and maybe Bama depending on other conference champs records. If Bama wins, Uga out and the other conference champs fill the other 3 spots unless they all have 3 losses.Never say never but the craziest circumstances of all time would be the only way Aub gets in as a 2 loss non conference winner

But Auburn defense should be about the same as the last 2 years if not better depending on development and a few freshman

UGA would have a better shot of getting in than AU, unless in your scenario UGA's loss to Bama gives them 3 losses
