Are you aware of how the Big 12 came to exist?

But we were told that Riley was gone and now you have a great coach. I mean, do you know what your recruiting rankings have been the past few years? Why is Oklahoma down?

Probably because those 3 schools are the only ones, currently in the SEC, that share the displeasure of being a conference with Texas although not all at the same time.

None of Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Missouri are ranked either, so how did this make sense in your head?

Speaking of displeasure...

Texas vs. Missouri: 18-6
Texas vs. Texas A&M: 76-37-5
Texas vs. Arkansas: 56-23

Don't worry, you'll fall right back in love with us when we get there. It's going to be great to have the old gang back together. Except Missouri, we're obviously going to kick them out.

Well, we lost 42 players since last year out of what, 88 schollies? And both 5* qbs. QB Williams got us 4 wins last year that could have been losses. Changed complete staff.

Its gonna take some time but its always darkest before dawn. Pretty dark right now but its a rebuild. Starting qb taken out by targeting too so it gets worse.

One can look at atm who is in 5th year with coach and getting top classes and we’re both 3-2, but they lost to App State. So I’ll give Brent time to rebuild. Saban was 6-6 his first year with Bama.

No matter how good Riley was it was all offense, and that was never gonna work in SEC. Brent is gearing up for that but it won’t be easy due to the massive turnover.

You did pick up Dillon Gabriel and he was an excellent pickup. How is he, btw? I was watching when he got hurt, but was skipping around and never heard how he is?

Gabriel has been off the last few games. He’s missed several TD passes and then a ton more regular passes. All were overthrows. Great kid but playing here is not the same as his last school. The key is, the plays were there and if we had a good qb we don’t lose both games. It snowballs fast. Not putting blame on him for losses either there is plenty of blame to go around.

The backup qb was flat out horrible he had stage fright. Missed open receivers and also held football afraid to pull trigger taking sacks. Road game so he was rattled. We have some good other backups but as you know coaches see practices and not all qbs can get tuned into gameplan each week with reps being limited. Even if other qbs are better options, if they had no gameplanned reps they can’t go in and know what to do when play comes on to them.

For us its just surviving this transition year and then we have a great qb coming in next year (along with players who fit new defensive schemes better).

No news, in the protocol. I would guess Thursday we will hear a definite go or no go. I would be shocked if he plays Saturday. Especially with all the Tua stuff in the headlines, schools will be super cautious.

I didn't realize he had been off. And backups having stage fright when brought into a game suddenly is not all that unusual. It's difficult to be holding a clipboard one second and taking snaps the next. Give him a week or so to work with the first string and he'll improve.

That is the hope. Deer in the headlights from the headcoach to the back up deep snapper against TCU tho. Total cluster. To be expected somewhat when installing new offense, defense, culling a soft culture etc. But my god it is a shock to the system.

To see a team thta is used to rolling over people struggle, it can be a shock. I suspect Oklahoma will be ok, but some concern about Venables has to be there.

That meme is being saved for future use when those losers actually join. Still can't believe we let Texass join, OU should fit in alright.

Since OU is perennially stomped by SEC teams I’m trying to understand why you are here.

Here is why I’m going to give Brent some time. Brent walked into a better player situation at Clemson too. And since BV isn’t our DC it will be effort to see if his DC can turn it around. I suspect he will but will take a few classes. Brent did pretty good vs SEC teams so he knows what it takes. Nothing is garanteed though, but I have patience knowing Riley was never going to get us far in SEC and Brent will have a better chance given his background.

Well, certainly you have to give them time. 4-5 years at least to get his own players and try to change the culture and remold it. If you are struggling then it might have to be revisited.
