Ok, time to get back to football ...

Objectively ranking last ten years of SEC teams:

1. Bama 2020 really close but upon close scrutiny, the Bama 2020 team objectively looks like a slightly more complete team than 2019 LSU.

2. LSU 2019 beat some great opponents but not by as much as 2020 Bama did.

3. Bama / LSU tie 2011 have to go with a tie here.

4. Georgia 2017 better team than Bama 2017 but we fell short due to not preparing for backup. Beat a much better opponent in Oklahoma.

5. Tie between Bama 2017 / 2016 (2016 best team to not win a NC besides 2011 LSU)

6. Bama 2012 just a touch better than our 2012 team

7. Georgia 2012 if not for Bama, we would have easily have been NC's

8. Bama 2015 Not a great team but a good solid team top to bottom.

9. Bama 2018 - we should have beat them in the SEC CG but didn't prepare for the backup (2nd year in a row)

10. Auburn 2010 - was just about all Cam.

You can’t put us #1 in these. It creates problems around here.

Understood but I had to be objective. I know good football when I see it.

2011 bama was better than 2011 LSU, but 2020 bama was not better than 2019 LSU. Wasn’t even better than 2019 bama, just benefitted from a much easier year

Yeah.

Playing all Power Five opponents was much easier than playing Utah State.

A big part of it was the toughest schedule in the history of the game really.

You should work harder on being more definitive and less objective. Thanks in advance.

I'll take that as constructive criticism.

Yeah that extra game against mizzou really bridges the gap between beating the preseason top 4 by 20 ppg and knocking off powerhouses Texas A&M and notre dame

When people say this and think it's true, what I don't get is that all teams benefited or had the opportunity to from the same year. That argument just doesn't hold water.

And this part makes absolutely no sense.

First, they lost a game against a very mediocre Auburn team.

Second, their defense was historically bad (at least from Saban's tenure).

They weren't even close to the 2020 Bama team.

2019 pre covid 15-0. Everybody's playing, no hold outs or others distractions. 2020 covid, cancelled games tbpl, players skipped for the pro's, distractions. LSU/Ala 46-41 was a game of fluke plays that kept Ala. in it, at home. Y'all blistered us with our second team offense/defense from 2019 and add injuries and hold outs to boot. The rest of the rankings are spot on except the first two.

Because you don’t know-

I can appreciate that.

This is a big reason I say 2019 Bama was merely a good football team and not an excellent one or exceptional one.

The best thing I can say is that if 2020 Bama had your 2019 schedule, they would have made it 55-17 against everyone.

Ohio State destroyed essentially the same Clemson team LSU faced in 2019. LSU ended up winning comfortably after a not so good start. Bama's game on the other hand was never in doubt against Ohio St even after their QB fumbled that turned into a quick TD.

But I can appreciate what you're saying man.
