The most interesting fact I discovered about college football ratings is that SEC fans will watch ANY college football but fans in other regions don't tend to watch out of region. We're a huge chunk of other team's ratings and that's something that CFB needs to fix in the long term.

Also, interesting that apparently everyone in the US (obviously exaggerating for anyone feeling OCD) watches our championship game even though they don't tune in to their own.

Shocking results. Completely unexpected. Who are these SEC people and where did they come from?

This is pathetic. Those two shouldn’t be remotely close to the AAC.

This is where a UCF fan comes in to remind us that their student body is 45 million.

Yep, this is absolutely true. SEC fans are fans of college football as a whole and are much more likely to watch outside the SEC footprint than vice versa.

Actually does surprise me, considering the population bases.

It used to be the case that you could say the Big 10 is way more NFL territory, but there's plenty of NFL teams in the SEC area now

It's even worse when you consider the American's title game was on at the same time as the SEC's.

The PAC 12 desperately needs USC to become a super power again in college football. No one is interested in that conference... not even their own fans.

4M of the 4.2M ACC viewership are Clemson & VT fans. The rest are NC State.

Good lord, how high could the expiring CBS contract go for?

I can't see any way it won't be the largest in CFB history.

Next SEC TV deals should be monsters.

The game has become the southeast region & bluebloods. Outside of that the interest is declining.

The population of each conference based on the states each has teams in and percent of that population who watches the games on average

SEC - 93 million 4% CC viewers 19%
ACC - 95.6 million 1.6% CC 4%

PAC 12 65.8 million 2.3% CC 6%

B1G 84.8 million 3.6% CC 10%

Big12 39.2 million 5% CC 26%

Big 12 as a percent of population has the highest rate of viewership with SEC coming in 2nd.

Penn State screwed that entire region by joining the Big 10 instead of the Big East. Hell, they were "the Beast of the East" traditionally.

A Big East football conference with Penn State, Pitt, West Virginia, Boston College, Syracuse, and then scrape in a few more bodies for filler (Rutgers, Temple, a couple more cellar dwellers), and you have an interesting conference.
