Not being hyperbolic...the 2018 Tide is probably the best CFB team ever.

Alabama has had many teams that arguably could claim to be the best college football team ever. Prior to this year the best team in CFB was probably Saban's 2009 team. This team is better than the 2009 Saban national champions. Why? Tua. Tua puts this team over the top. The 2009 team might have had as talented players at this 2018 team but not at the QB position. Tua is the difference.

2009 Bama was not the best ever...McCoy getting injured saved them from a title loss likely that year. 2012 Bama was better. Neither was as good as 95 Nebraska

It happens - 2015 Bama could be argued as superior by the end of the year I think.

McElroy was a highly mediocre (at best) qb

2018 Bama up to this point and 01 Miami for me personally.

Honorable mention to the 95 Huskers

I'm going to agree here. Saban always has elite defenses, but now he has an elite offense being led by an elite gunslinger. They are on an entirely different level this year.

2009 Alabama- 5th in offensive FEI, 1st in Defensive FEI
2012 Alabama- 5th in offensive FEI, 4th in Defensive FEI

2009 Alabama- Completely shut down a dynastic Florida team with Tebow as their QB

2012 Alabama- Struggled against A&M, LSU, and Georgia giving up 250+ passing yards and allowing 8 YPA to Manziel, Mettenberger, and Murray

If it wasn't for McElroy playing like complete dogshit during the middle third of the season, there really would be no comparison. '09 Bama was definitely a more complete team at their best. We just didn't see it much because of how inconsistent McElroy was.

Comeback to me when Bama beats 4 top 10 teams by an average of about 30 points. 1995 Nebraska is the GOAT this is not debatable

They’ll pretty much have to, to be national champs. LSU was #3, Georgia will likely be top 5, and both playoff opponents will be top four.

I have no idea why the 95 Nebraska team gets this title...same with 2001 Miami...both teams played NO ONE...Nebraska's "daunting" schedule:

Ok St 4-8
Mich St 6-5
AZ ST 6-5
Pacific 3-8
Wash St 3-8
Missouri 3-8
Kansas St 10-2...yes a decent team
Colorado 10-2...another decent team
Iowa St 3-8
Kansas 10-2 the fact that Kansas was 10-2 tells you how "daunting" the Big 8 was
Oklahoma 5-5-1
Florida...12-1...

I'm still going with Tommy Frazier's Cornhuskers.

Youtube highlights

62-24 over an undefeated UF team, and they could have scored more. They were kneeling at the 2 yard line at the end of the game.

629 vs 269 in total offense. Against a 12-0 Florida team!

WTF? That was probably the worst of Saban's title winning teams. That one or the Jake Coker one.

Not even close. We still were working with players from the Shula era and there isnt a team in the history of college football with as much talent as alabama has right now. That's not even questionable given their recruiting classes the last however many years.

2009 is a great team to us because it busted the country's bullshite myth that Alabama would never be back. Talent wise though, we had great talent, but it was nothing compared to now. This team would beat 2009 34-10. Handily.
