[non-SEC] - Apparently Wake Forest's loss to UNC did not count as a conference loss.

Just found it - they scheduled it as a nonconference game to ensure they got to play each other.

You mean NC?

Crazy they will beat Clemson for the ACC game even with a loss.

Wake and UNC scheduled an OOC series because they stopped playing every year after the ACC added Louisville and Syracuse.

That's weird but kind of cool at the same time.

SEC should start doing that honestly. Would let certain teams play more than once every 10 years

I'm sure Auburn would love to play UF every year again. I'd like for bama to start an annual game with UGA myself...

Or, we could go to a 9 or even 10 game conf schedule.

Yep. One could schedule and Alabama or Georgia and not have it count as a conference game.

Auburn and Alabama already do this every year in baseball

I was about to say the same for Ole Miss and State in baseball. We play 4 times a year. 3 of them are your 3 game normal SEC series. The other is a non SEC matchup and does not count towards conference records.

I went to a Governor's Cup game at the M-Braves stadium a few years back. Fantastic atmosphere.

Not anymore. Also a little more prevalent in baseball than other sports. Don't remember any other football programs doing it.

With that kind of logic, maybe the Iron Bowl or the 3rdSIO should be a non-conference game.

You can schedule anyone you want even if they are in your conference. The conference makes the conference schedule portion, the schools create the rest. Those two schools wanted to play each other regardless
