It’s almost as if they don’t learn how to block in college anymore.

Another question is why draft a franchise QB in the 1st round and then not draft Olinemen to protect him?

There are just fewer offensive linemen than any other positions.

And many times when an offensive linemen is a super athlete he gets moved to defense.

Still another question is does it not count if you take OL in the first round of both the drafts before taking a franchise QB? Cause the Bengals first round picks in 2018 and 2019 were both OL including one from Bama

Current schemes don't help, either. Every WR in the formation is one less TE or RB to help pass protect, and there is very little disguise with a WR. TEs and RBs give you options - a good RB can rush, catch, or block. A TE can catch or block. With a WR - the defense knows what's coming, and can scheme accordingly.

I think it's going to get worse, as well, as coordinators in both college and pro are finally giving up on the idea of dropping eight into coverage - and are sending pressure more and more.

Are you saying there have been no problem of that in the SEC?

Because QBs are taking 15% to 20% of the salary cap on a 53 man roster. Offensive line is a 5 man unit and it is impossible to pay more than 2 good offensive lineman.

The Bama guy is the Bengals' highest graded OL.

Jonah has given up 10 sacks this season, I'd hate to see how bad the rest of the line is.

It’s tough to find 300lb people who are skilled and healthy enough to do this for 17 games
