What’s everyone’s thoughts on how the first games in the SEC will look like with no spring ball this year. I’m thinking it’s going to look very very sloppy for awhile.

Just wondering if any team has had the chance to build any type of chemistry. I guess will find out soon enough.

They've had at least had fall camp, and the later start time has gotta help. Also, I'm sure that the QB's and receivers were getting together over the summer at least a little

It's definitely going to favor teams that have a lot of returning players, especially on offense, in the first few weeks.

I think you will see some blown coverages for sure especially with new personnel in there. Also, timing in passing game will still take time so whoever can rush the ball the best will be in good shape to control clock and games.
I think the extra practice time will allow teams to come out a little more focused and it will be more like the first week of the NFL season.
I still think those that scrimmaged more and allowed more contact will be better off as football is still physical that you can't simulate until you go out there and do it.
My biggest concern will be depth as all teams will be playing SEC games back to back to back with no non conf patsies in the way.

They've had fall camp, and most of them have been on campus since mid-June. They've worked out together, watched film, studied playbooks, had position meetings, etc.

So they've had a few months to build chemistry, the on-the0-field product will be sloppy, then they'll get it together soon enough.

Good question. Ironically NFL players have been saying for years they don't need pre season games. Finally because of the circumstances they don't have any pre season games. Now some players are speaking to the importance of pre season games.

In the NFL the only players that need preseason are the ones trying to make a roster and for the back end of the roster.
The stars do not need preseason.

More worried about injuries. Looks like the NFL stacked up injuries that one can assume is due to the lack of full speed reps and some pre-season games.

Hoping for a solid, competitive, injury free weekend!!

Yea they do. Preseason games are still played at a faster speed than scrimmages. There have been a lot of injuries. Offenses the first week sucked. Marginally better the second week.

Good point. I didn’t even figure that into the equation. I second your last part.

It literally is going to be a meat grinder. I guess this will be a good test for Bama’s new strength and conditioning coaches, and that goes for everyone else.
