(1) One less forum for some of the the pore ole me, put upon college athletes to voice their complaints. A sizable number if 30 of the UCLA squad is representative. How about this suggestion, take your grant, go to school and do what the regular students do. Get serious about getting some education so you can get a job and be a success. And get over this idea NOW that somehow you are entitled to free ride and any sort of guarantees in the real world.

(2) The idea of watching the competition has taken a big back seat for me to the point of "don't care anymore" (except for good kids and people who make a living off the games) with the sure backdrop of all the kneeling and showing of arse that is surely gonna be the central theme. And the 100% surety that not one coach or commentator dare express anything except how glorious the whole scene is. For self survival and yeah RECRUITING. See Muschamp, Will. And what's happening with damn good coaches like Iowa. And somehow blaming America for victimizing these "kids". Sickening.

(3) I repeat "some" kids. Many have been raised by parents who appreciate he opportunities we as Americans have and that are taken for granted by many more. They are the only victims here. But most of those will persevere. And thrive.

My virtually worthless opinion only.

Clarify what makes one a good kid?

So folks can get super rich off of this so called amateur model, and you're worrying about players Kneeling while they are artificially capped by the NCAA at a full scholly , but no one else has their pay from CFB artificially capped

That's the kind of injustice and unfair bullshite that you gloss right over, and that's why the Players of this generation are finding their "voice" and becoming more involved in politics and social issues

You clarify that for yourself since you have the demonstrated ability to log on and post here. And since you appear to have plenty of time given you are clearly out of the loop. Perhaps you lost the ability to comprehend about 25 or so years ago based upon your ignorance of the potential value of a college football grant to an SEC school. Let's count the ways scholarship football players are compensated:

* A lifetimes earning is astoundingly higher for a person with a college degree compared to HS. A degree is worth over a million dollars in earnings alone and potentially far more much less the quality of life.

* The athlete and/or their parents are not on the hook for a possibly $100,000 or so in student loans. Which is the trigger for much of the mass discontent among young people now. Plus the cost of food, living arrangements, medical care, spending money, housing.

* All players receive stipends and those have went up constantly. A paycheck as long as he is in school and on scholarship.

* Then there is the little matter of pay for image, etc. And that is potentially a big payoff. It is a recruiting payoff that may not have a cap. As the cap has already been challenged and 100% won't stand. A big bonus for signing with State U. and regular payments, plus, plus, plus. The NCAA has and is is the process of losing what control they had over pay for play. And if you think LSU's nut case with the hundreds of thousands of dollars paid from stolen hospital funds was a stand alone deal then LOL!

Watch the parents and players who get offers and sign D-1 grants this fall. They are clearly thrilled and there are hundreds of thousands if not millions of reasons for many in the overall picture.
