UGA will pass Auburn and Florida if they win the title this year.
Putting Georgia behind Florida and ESPECIALLY AUBURN is completely bozo.

I think this year they all but caught up, if the trend continues they would eclipse them and be the second best team of the first quarter of the 21st century

It’s not an excuse. The East has been a crapshoot of who could out shite the other. Even the Worst SEC West team most years can beat Vandy…. Key word most

The argument against LSU is that they only went to one SECCG game in 11 seasons between 2008 and 2019.

UGA & Bama have the right dudes. LSU is the right place. Every coach they hire leaves with a natty.

UGA much > than LSU. UGA's has made 3 CFP appearances, LSU 1. UGA's has a better overall record, better bowl game record AND bowl winning percentage and has been to more bowl games than LSU.
Heck, Vandy's got an overwhelming winning record against Texas, but that doesn't mean Vandy's a better program. If you do, you're nuts.
The three best SEC programs this century are clearly Alabama, then Georgia, then LSU. In that order. No debate about #1, no debate about #2, and no debate about #3. Period.

Which part confused you, the part with dates or the part with numbers?
Posted on 12/8/22 at 4:17 pm to Sgt Tuffnuts
What? No. LSU would still have more national titles, more SEC titles, and lead the head to head.

UGA got to reap the benefits of being in East for years. Not the same for the Tigers. How many times did it take for them to get over the Bama hump?
Oh dear Lord make more excuses

This. Saban & Smart are best coaches. LSU has 3 natty’s with 3 staffs & BK may make it 4 outa 4. Remarkable (and remarkably frustrating as a Horns fan).

I guess, unless you value championships.

It's interesting that if you include Texas and Oklahoma in your equations they each only have 1 National Title (presuming you're starting in 2000; otherwise it's just Texas if you're starting in 2001).
Oklahoma did win 13(14) conference titles, with Texas winning 2, but I think that just sells on the weakness of the Big 12.
Big 12 in title/playoff games (outside of the two they won):
Oklahoma 2004 - Lost by 36
Oklahoma 2008 - Lost by 10
Texas 2009 - Lost by 16
Oklahoma 2015 - Lost by 20 (Semifinal)
Oklahoma 2017 - Lost by 6 in OT (Semifinal)
Oklahoma 2018 - Lost by 11 (Semifinal)
Oklahoma 2019 - Lost by 35 (Semifinal)
It'd be amusing if TCU ends up being the first Big 12 team to make it to the final game, considering Oklahoma's been to the playoffs 4 TIMES and only got close once.
Records of teams with multiple playoff appearances:
Alabama - 9-4
Clemson - 6-4
Ohio State - 3-3
Oklahoma - 0-4
Georgia - 3-1
Notre Dame - 0-2
