I don't want him to knock him but yeah that loss was mostly his fault. Without the two pick sixes, Bama blows away Auburn. I think he can be really good but pick-sixes show that he can be bad too. Hopefully he's learned from that and gotten better. Can't wait to see what Brennan can do QB'ing full time.

I thought Mac actually played well vs Auburn. The issue is the two mistakes were major ones that were costly. I didn’t think auburn could keep pace with Alabama offensively unless they turned it over, which they did.
Although I thought Sark really dropped the ball not giving the ball to N. Harris inside the 3 and letting Mac throw. Harris was running well all game, makes no sense not to give it to him
I think Mac is solid QB who will do well getting more experience. Bryce is obviously the future but right now it makes the most sense to keep riding with Mac

Not surprised at all. He showed good things (despite some mistakes) last year and with COVID cancelling spring practice and a lot of summer stuff, there was never really a chance for a true competition to develop between Mac Jones and Bryce Young.

Told y’all since January Mac will start over Bryce. He’s earned it.

Still think they’ll get down 3 scores vs. UGA or LSU and turn to Young

"The right-hander saved his best performance for last as he torched Michigan for 327 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. The Wolverines were the top passing defense Alabama faced last season."
"Despite throwing two costly pick-sixes, Jones also played well in Alabama’s Iron Bowl defeat to Auburn. During that game, he completed 26 of 39 passes for a career-high 335 yards and four touchdowns while posting a 162.4 passer rating. That’s a higher passer rating than Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow recorded during his game against Auburn last season."
"Over his four starts last season, Jones averaged 293 yards and 3.25 touchdowns per game. If he were to keep at that pace over a 15-game season, he would have 4,396 yards and 48 touchdowns. Both of those numbers would comfortably pass Tagovailoa’s single-season marks for passing yards (3,966) and passing touchdowns (43) both set in 2018."
"Jones was also extremely efficient with the football, posting a 128.1 NFL passer rating which ranked seventh-highest among quarterbacks with at least 150 dropbacks, according to Pro Football Focus."

Can't blame him for a 45-48 loss to Auburn
Actually you kind of can

Setting up nicely for Bama imo. Jones is better than Coker and with Naj running the ball, Bama is gonna be a tough out.

The SEC should be on the alert. Journeyman QB Bama is best Bama.

I feel the same about Jones as I do about Brennan. Neither are elite, but they are both surrounded by so many talented weapons, they'd have to really suck arse to not put up good numbers.
