quote:

"Jarrett Stidham has football intelligence, he has size, he has accuracy, he has some mobility," Zierlein said.

While most mock drafts have Wyoming's Josh Allen, USC's Sam Darnold, Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield and UCLA's Josh Rosen as the consensus top-tier quarterbacks in this class, Zierlein said he thinks Stidham would fall behind Allen "from a size and arm talent" standpoint but would be ahead of Rosen in terms of his "football make-up."

Ultimately, he thinks Stidham would have been selected ahead of both Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson and Oklahoma State's Mason Rudolph.

"My guess would have been that he would have had a chance to work his way up, potentially, ahead of Rosen, who I think is sliding a little bit," Zierlein said. "My guess would be, worst-case scenario, he would be the fifth quarterback off the board, back end of the first. Best-case scenario he could have moved his way into the middle of the first round."

quote:

"With all that said I think if he goes and does what he's capable of doing at Auburn," Zierlein said, "we're talking about him being a top-10 pick next year."

More like Jarrett Studham, amirite?

He’s an excellent qb.

SEC stacked at qb next year, will be hard to stand out.

Stidham
Tua
Fromm
Fitz
Bentley
mullen’s next thing

To bad he couldn't win the one game he played in that mattered.

At least 5 QBs rank ahead of him:

Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson. Arguably Mason Rudolph and Luke Falk could be picked up, too, ahead of him.

Regardless of anyone's opinion, it probably is a good thing for stidham (and AU, too) that he returned.

Idk if I'd throw Fitz in with those other guys. He's been trash against good defenses his whole career. He's coming off a major injury and we don't know if he'll be able to run the same, and he was never more than an average passer anyway.

Good college QB, but I'd put him on a tier just below QBs who actually have a shot at the NFL.

Yeah no. He would have been in the mix with the top 3 guys for sure.

Well I'm glad a Bama poster is here to correct a professional draft analyst with NFL.com about Auburn's QB

If Josh Allen and Darnold are top 3 picks then Stidham is certainly a first round pick. His faults aren't any worse than Darnold and he's right there with them in pure skills.

Ahead of Rudolph and Jackson huh? Be still my beating heart.

Where did the drafts go when we had elway, marino, aikman, kosar, Montana and Steve young.

Rudolph and Jackson are journeymen AT BEST so....congrats. this post shows just how shitty the qb position has become.

That's funny.

If stidham is a smart qb, then he would have gone pro if he had a good chance at being a first round pick.

Either he isn't smart, or he isn't a first rounder despite what bloggers say in their business website that requires hot takes and buzz worthy predictions in order to stay in business.

The only time I was jealous of Auburn was when Cam Newton got suspended. With AJ Green, Todd Gurley, Kolton Houston, and closely watching the GT melt over a t shirt and shoes... the 1 day suspension of Newton after the regular season finished is the only time I have looked at auburn and said, "wow. That never happens to us".

Same thing could be said Fromm, if you have to pick one game that "Matters." Dumbass.

He has a chance to be top 10 next year. Big difference in top 10 money and end of the 1st round money.

Looks like you're the one who isn't too smart.

I'm glad he came back. Dude has an amazing arm. He just needed another year of seasoning, IMO.

With everything you know about 2018, you think stidham is going to improve his draft stock?

@Miss St
@UGA
@Bama
And the proverbial Malzahn bowl letdown

Good luck. If stidham was anywhere near 1st round after 2017, he should have gone pro.

The only reason I can think of that you'd be that mad about this is that you have the hots for Studham and are angry because you know you'll never have a shot.

I love this website

Everyone who posts on a message board is presumed mad or melting on something. A message board. With posts. The entire internet is mad and melting.

Why don't you defend the presumption that stidham will improve his draft stock? If anyone actually put any thought into my post, they would be like, "oh shite. He didn't even include Washington on there to start the season".
