Do you realize the size and speed difference of an 85 team vs a 2019 team? You cannot actually believe this. Burrow would literally torch that team up and down the field whenever he wanted

The college teams would win. Even college players are much bigger, faster, and stronger now than NFL players were during the '60s and '70s.

I’m certain 2019 LSU beats 85 Bears easily, because those guys are in their 60’s now!!

I'm pretty sure smith would be broken in half the first 10 minutes.

The 85 Bears would wreck 2019 LSU. NFL players of the 80s were very strong and athletic

LSU's Oline is a good 30-40lbs heavier and 1-2 taller, LSU's Dline is about 30lbs heavier.

Weight isnt the determining factor but the players are definitely bigger than they were back then. Strength training is a whole new world comparatively

Back in the day a team of college all-stars used to play the defending Super Bowl champion. The games were competitive. The Steelers won the last two in '75 (21-14) and '76 (24-0).

This was also back in the day when NFL players worked second jobs and didn't spend all offseason training. Those games would not be remotely competitive today.

No college all star team is staying within 40 of Kansas City, and that assumes Andy Reid takes his foot off the gas at halftime.

The size and strength training of modern players would allow them to be competitive and win if they stepped into a time machine and played against teams from the 70s.

Really interesting idea to pit modern college teams against former NFL greats.

There are so many different aspects to consider, it really makes you stop and think.

Great thread.

Which is why it will flame out and die a horrible death here on tRant.

85 Bears

A favorite Super Bowl story, Jim McMahon's rental car wasn't turned in after the SB. It was found about a week later in a parking deck, full of empty beer cans
