Danielle Hunter was so average I never expected him to be the beast he is or at least his stats in college were very meh

I think he had 1 sack the year he went into the draft

Something about LSU guys and the league crazy rate of success

My bad, didn't see the link. Pretty obvious exclusion if you ask me, especially since he's actually been healthy the past 2 years

No worries. I was surprised he wasn't on there too.

Not likely. Cook is in a much better situation in New Orleans.

Evan Engram should’ve been ahead of both

Based on what?

Cook in 2019: 43 receptions 705 yards, 9 TDs
Engram in 2019: 44 receptions 467 yards, 3 TDs

Cook in 2018: 68 receptions 896 yards, 6 TDs
Engram in 2018: 45 receptions 577 yards, 3 TDs

Maybe Henry since Henry hasn’t played a full season in the last 2 years (neither has Engram though)

But not Cook

Tight ends can still be fairly productive in their mid 30s. Jason Witten, Greg Olsen, etc.

Jared Cook is neither of them
Witten is a HOFer

The point is that Tight Ends can still be productive at later stages of their careers. Jimmy Graham, Heath Miller, the list can go on.

Stats weren't very different from Hunter Henry in 2019. Jimmy Graham was 33.
652 yards vs. 447 yards
5 Tds. vs. 3 TDs.

Final year had 535 yards and 2 TDs. Again, not all that different from Hunter Henry.

Yea but Hunter Henry is 25
And played 12 games

Henry MAY not be better this year but his career is certainly on the rise while Cook’s is towards the end

And if we check their PFFs
Henry 73.2 Cook 75.9

It’s not all that off to say Henry will pass him soon
Especially if the saints drafted a TE in the 3rd round

And my point is it's not all that off to say that he won't pass him soon just because he's younger and his trajectory might be higher.
