Does anyone actually know where the whole "inbred" thing came from for Alabama/the south in general?
Is it some weird shite that came from the north to belittle us? Is it like when they call us racist and then turn out to be the most racist part of the country?
Serious question. It's about as dumb as the whole LSU smells like corndogs thing. It's just kinda weird and creepy and always used but no idea where it came from.

It's an entire south thing and yes it's done regularly by people from the north and west coast.
The funny part about it, is I recently saw a thing of most searched for porn keywords by state, and the majority of the north was looking for incest porn.

Among fans of SEC teams yeah but the whole Alabama/incest jokes extend beyond that. I’ve seen plenty of even non-Americans online use the whole Alabama=Roll Tide=incest even though most of them don’t know where Alabama is or that Roll Tide is associated with the university’s sports teams. It’s just another joke beaten to death by the Internet.
