Theres another game like this, grid iron legends or something like that. Happy they're trying to make some new college games, and if you can mod it, you can mod in the real teams.
Hopefully this comes out for pc

If you can’t edit the teams and player names then there’s no point for me.

EA should have continued making the game but have had the rosters completely randomized. If Bama’s qb in the vanilla copy was a 6’4 white guy from Montana then nobody could sue for likeness
If only the series didn’t get discontinued right before the CFP was implemented

"Doug Flutie’s Maximum Football will not feature names of college players, will have the correct number of conferences with different names, playoff and bowl games without real names, and being creative with school names pertaining to city and state names that can be used."
That sounds chock-full of suck

This will be terrible and no one will buy it

I wonder if the schools will be named like the ones in Super NES Play Action Football? I think Penn State was "State College PA" and Texas A&M was "College Station."

What they're going to do is make it fully editable. So people will be able to edit in all the teams and stadiums and stuff and you'll be able to download it.

They came out with a 2018 version as well. From the gameplay I've seen I probably won't try it even if it's free.

I remember Miss State was the State of Mississippi. Tulane was Two Lanes and Vanderbilt was Windybelt.

An Indie developer should make a 16 bit style college football game (think College Football USA 96, Bill Walsh College Football, etc.) with no licensing but a full customization suite.
It won’t happen, because the sales just probably wouldn’t be there, but it would be better gameplay than someone trying to make a modern 3D football game on a shoestring budget
