Nah, no 2-3 loss team deserves to play for a national championship when there are only 12 regular season games. 6 should be the max.

Or return to the BCS, as NS has said.

I’m probably only watching the championship game going forward. The season ended when LSU beat Ole Miss for me. Wasn’t even interested in Alabama-Florida and Alabama is my second favorite school.

The playoff doesn’t really need to be expanded. Just add a couple of wild card type games and let 5 vs 6 play for the 4th spot. Or something similar.

They have been meaningless forever. There has only been one or two at most bowl games that determined the National Championship. Ever. What is the difference now?

Need to play bowl games - then let the committee pick the playoff teams after. Keeps the bowls relevant and important, helps narrow down the four best teams.

Why do people other than the owners (money) object to expansion? The CFP and BCS and everything before that have been decided by people or computers. It’s the only sport that’s not decided on the field. Set it up to be decided on the field. If you lose your conference, tuff shite, you’re out. If you only muster up 6 games in a season, tuff shite you’re out. If you play a team twice and it so happens you didn’t beat them in the conference title game, tuff shite you’re out. It’s not hard.

8 team playoff
Top 10 teams eligible
P5 Champions get in with Top 10 finish
G5 Highest ranked champ with a top 10 finish gets in
Rest of bracket filled out by at large rankings..

Play 3rd week in Dec.. that’s 2 weeks for quarters.. then 10 days for semis and 10 days for NC

Gives Champs advantage
Gives G5 a path
Allows fir at large

2020
Texas Bowl- 1 Bama vs 8 UCinn
Belk Bowl- 2 Clemson be 7 UF
Sun Bowl- 3 OSU vs 6 OU
Holiday Bowl- 4 ND vs 5 TexAM

Re rank winners and advance to current playoffs

2019-

Belk- OSU-Baylor
Sun- Clemson-Oregon
Holiday- OU-UGA

When were bowls relevant? And why were they relevant?

I’ve never once cared about a bowl game simply because it was a bowl game.

4 team is like playing “just the tip”’ . Might as well stay at 2. I say you either go 6 with 1 and 2 getting byes, or go 16

No. God, no. There’s only two maybe three championship level teams this year. Why the hell would we sacrifice the best regular season in sport for a farcical 16 team playoff?

It’s already been sacrificed going to 4..Either go back to 2 or go all in with bigger playoff.

16 is way to many. The best thing about college football is every game pretty much counts in the regular season. The CFP has hurt that even though it’s just 4 teams. 16 teams will totally kill the importance of the regular season.
