Let's say Clemson beats ND. Do the Irish still go to the Playoff or does the committee drop them for A&M?

I say they should, but I think the committee will go with Cincy just so they don't have to face the SEC/ND bias accusations.

What's the most likely outcome?

ND won't have to play Clemson so the ACC can get 2 in. Then ND will get drilled by a SEC team. That's how it works.

why should they? The real argument is OSU vs A&M, not ND vs. A&M. I think Notre Dame is virtually locked in as long as they don't get blown out by Clemson

If ND stays within 7-10they should stay in top 4. If Clemson beats them pretty handily at full strength ND should fall out.

With TL back, Clemson rolls them.

Yes I would think so also. If ND hangs in with Clemson somehow they deserve an opportunity to get beat down in the playoffs again.

I don’t see any reason A&M should get in over Notre Dame, even if they get blown out.

A&M has:

- Win over the #6 team
- Blowout loss to the #1 team
- 3 struggle wins

ND would have:

- Win over the #3 team
- Blowout loss to that same team
- Win over the #17 team
- 1 struggle win

If Clemson beats Norte Dame and it’s not a bloodbath then Notre Dame will go to the playoffs.

If you send A&M then your punishing Notre Dame for playing a conference title game and they’ll have beaten Clemson in the regular season already.

A&M’s best chance to go is

Alabama, Notre Dame and Ohio State win out or Ohio State is disqualified and Alabama or Notre Dame wins out.

If ND and CU both get in, how do they get seeded?

Do you have them 2/3 and have them rematch in the semis (so they play each other in back to back games), or do you seed them 2/4 or 3/4 and have the possibility of a third game in the national title game?

The buckeyes are teetering on 5 games even if things go well this weekend and Michigan holding their playoff future in their paws next week for the magic 6th game. Advantage TAMU. ND has a real shot at beating this Clemson team twice.

However, if last week's Kellen Mond shows up at Jordan Hare the aggies are never going to survive it anyway.

as previously noted, if Clemson beats Notre Dame and Alabama beats UF, it's very likely that Clemson will be the #2 or #3 team and Notre Dame will be #4

Notre Dame will still get preference over most teams

eta that I assume Ohio State is a near lock at the other 2 or 3 team

Doesn't matter A&M is going to lose to Auburn.

So go ahead and let that dream die now.

In what scenario are you picturing this happening?

Had A&M played Bama a bit closer than they would probably be in the mix over Notre Dame losing to Clemson

Say whay you want but Notre Dame has passed the eye test even with a loss to Clemson

The other elephant in the room is if Fla beats Bama than a one loss Bama is not dropping below A&M

In this crazy season I could definitely see them giving Cincy an opportunity

Unless you think Clemson is losing again and Miami runs the table, yes they will play again. The ACC tiebreaker if two teams have the same number of losses is head to head. They built this in just in case two teams don't play the same number of games.

No way A&M gets in over ND if Clemson beats ND in the ACCCG. ND would have a victory against the then #1 team in the nation with another loss to that same team. A&M, on the other hand, was pounded by the #1 team when it had its chance.

This is not 2012 ND. They're solid as Hell.

Depends. Is Notre Dame better than A&M? Then in this scenario, they should get the nod.

The 4 best should be the 4 best not any of this subjective "deserved" non-sense.

Care to identify these?

LSU was down 20 points with 40 seconds to play

Vandy wasn’t a blowout but Aggie still dominated

Aggie dominated Florida for the most part as well
