Justifies the move by Kelly, imho.
Notre Dame isn’t serious about titles right now.
Brian Kelly wants a National Championship. I bet he gets one

Ohh I like you. And I agree with your statement.
I’d ban bet anyone here that LSU wins another one before Notre Dame wins one.

Thought the guy was gonna cry, or hyperventilate first time he spoke to the team
Definitely in over his head.

Look at the nuts on this guy

That’s one hell of a first head coaching job. He may be a good one but they have to be patient while he learns on the job

Do y’all know just how difficult it is to get to the SECc game out of the SECw, much less win it, much less win a NC?
Why do I get the impression people think it is easy? Simple…Get a name coach to “coach-up” (sic) “all that talent,” (no one else has talent or a coach) and boom…beat State, Ark, Alabama, Aub, A&M, Miss, and SECe, and semis and finals and gosh…NC.
Oh well. If O can do it it must be easy…right? Hummmmm…

Eh I dunno. He’s a rising star in the industry and he’s looked very impressive so far in his speeches he’s given.

ND gave the players what they wanted. We'll see if it pays off.

A player's coach. Seems as if history frowns upon those kind, as a general matter. What's so hard for them to understand? The coach with the most championships is the one whose players are terrified of going back to the sideline when they screw up. Literally scared of not winning.

Lincoln Riley was promoted with less experience. It's near impossible to predict how a head coach is going to do before they've even had a game. I think ND will be fine. Freeman's a great recruiter, their OC is staying so that's handled, and ND's schedule each year is weak enough that they can out -talent most their opponents. What's important to them right now is momentum. They don't wanna clean house and lose all their recruits. Just want as seamless of a transition as possible.
They'll be a perennial 10-11 win team with a NY6 bowl, but probably no championships..... which is the same as they would've been under Kelly.

Excellent, intelligent post.
What are you doing here? Lol

All fun and games until he drops 4 games next year. It’s when you’ll see it’s the northern schools who are actually more racist.

He might end up being a good hire.

Old school coaches are a rare breed.

I hope he is. CFB is better with Notre Dame relevant.
It was just the seemingly uninterested way that they handed him the reigns

Peasant move by Notre Dame. About like Florida hiring the Sun Belt wonder.

I mean every coach has their own style. Pete Carrol for example is a players coach and he’s pretty damn successful. Will Muschamp was a hard arse and we all know how that went

O did it. Les did it. Saban did it.
Sorry for thinking the most accomplished guy (when he got the job) can do it.
