NCAA is not long for this world

SCOTUS hearing seems to be going very poorly for them. If SCOTUS upholds the lower court’s decision, more court cases will come and the NCAA will collapse like a house of cards.

For clarification, this current case is limited in scope to the NCAA’s ability to cap academic-related benefits, but the justices don’t seem convinced that the NCAA can be limiting compensation in general.

I don't know why some of you think this is a good thing.
Do you guys even know what the NCAA actually is?

Yes. What the NCAA “is” is its entire problem here.

It’s not necessarily good, but it’s inevitable and most people have known they would end up in legal hot water for a while now. Their poor leadership, complete failure to adapt, and tendency for dishonesty have all caught up to them. I’m not going to cry over it.

I posted a purely factual thread, and your dumb aggy arse refused to believe it.
It’s not just a liberal justice hammering them right now, bozo. One of your fat orange failure’s nominees also had harsh words for their lawyer’s arguments.
I’m sure you haven’t even read the transcripts because A&M grads are not known for being smart.

You will when the entire structure of collegiate athletics crumbles and disappears.

Nah. I’ll be fine. College athletics will significantly regress, and I’ll still enjoy it.

It will depend on each member university’s willingness to readjust the rules in order to keep the NCAA relevant.

I find that hard to believe

They won’t really have a choice. The current feeling in the courts is that member institutions using the NCAA to limit compensation is no different than competing companies conspiring to limit wages, which is illegal.
If this ruling is upheld, scholarship restrictions are gone, and the NCAA will have to he reinvented as that’s a key rule.

Ironically, the ones that going to be affected the most by collapse of college athletics are the big time athletes themselves

Eh, college is already irrelevant for baseball stars, and basketball is already on the one-and-done system.
The NFL will have to adapt.

There will be an NFL minor league in a few years. And maybe college sports can become about the team once again.

People like you are whats wrong with the world. You seem happy, giddy that the ncaa would destroy itself. These kids get free education, food, room and board, unlimited gear, the best training facilities money can buy, stipens for spending money , video games at their disposal, free plane rides , free hotel rooms on road games, free Tudors for academics and they get to play the game they love to play and if nfl is not in their future they have a degree to fall back on. Damn these kids are so oppressed. Gtfoh you dumb arse.

This is why most people take your post with a grain of salt, if that much. It shows your bias and don't care about the other side of the coin. So basically, GFY.
