We're coming up on 30 years since the conference expanded to 12 teams and gave us a conference championship game for our troubles. Since that time, six teams have managed to win national championships in the biggest money making sport.

Alabama - 7 (1992, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2020)
Auburn - 1 (2010)
Florida - 3 (1996, 2006, 2008)
Georgia - 1 (2021)
LSU - 3 (2003, 2007, 2019)
Tennessee - 1 (1998)

Yep, the Bowl Coalition started in 1992 (despite what LSU fans think).

According to certain fanbases only the 4-team playoffs and mythical polls before the BCS count.

It’s so annoying. BCS was actually the best system. Semi final games have been a constant disappointment.
