Both Mississippi teams have high ceilings and low floors.

Florida.

South Carolina.

Even Kentucky.

Vandy could swing anywhere between 0 and 4

Only one has a low floor. The Rant needs to make their decision whether Mullen is the second coming of Christ or not. If not, State will be just fine.

ETA: That being said, State’s floor is 7 and ceiling is 11. Ole Miss has a ceiling of 8 and floor of 5, imo.

Sat. Sept. 1 Stephen F. Austin - WIN
2 Sat. Sept. 8 at Kansas State - COULD LOSE
3 Sat. Sept. 15 UL Lafayette - WIN
4 Sat. Sept. 22 at Kentucky - COULD LOSE
5 Sat. Sept. 29 Florida - COULD LOSE
6 Sat. Oct. 6 Auburn - COULD LOSE
7 Sat. Oct. 13 Bye
8 Sat. Oct. 20 at LSU - LOSS
9 Sat. Oct. 27 Texas A&M - COULD LOSE
10 Sat. Nov. 3 Louisiana Tech - WIN
11 Sat. Nov. 10 at Alabama - LOSS
12 Sat. Nov. 17 Arkansas - WIN
13 Thu. Nov. 22 at Ole Miss - COULD LOSE

I don't think Miss State loses 7-8, but it's possible.

I feel like Auburn is always the answer. 6/12 but usually somewhere in between.

This is the best State team of my lifetime. That being said, I’ll be realistic. The only games I agree in your “could lose” are Auburn, UF, and Ole Miss. I’d also switch LSU to “could lose”.

1. LSU. They have the horses to be very good but their schedule is brutal. Every game on the schedule is winnable. But I also count seven losable games. I think a lot could depend on how they open the year with Miami.

2. Florida. 17 starters back plus Scarlett, Jefferson, and Grimes. But no QB and like LSU, there are a lot of losable games on the schedule.

3. Ole Miss. Arguably the lightest East draw of any West team. Plus I think they'll win what will likely be a shootout with Texas Tech to open the season. Defense is still gonna suck though.

I'm thinking I agree with this, I'd like to see how the offense runs to be sure. Defense should keep them in every game they play.

As of now, I think State will have 8-11 wins barring some freak accident that knocks out their top 3 players for the year.

You don't think you "COULD LOSE" at Kansas State, at Kentucky, and against A&M? I think you'll probably beat KSU. I think Miss State at Kentucky is a 60/40 for MSU, but at night, I'd say 50/50. Right now, I'd say Miss St vs A&M is a coin toss.

Mississippi State could certainly lose to any SEC team on that schedule.

They have jumped out to the front of fanbase most likely to be crying the blues come November.

A&M maybe but it’s at home. Kentucky, absolutely not. They lost by 38 to this team that has lost nothing from 2017. Not sure what they did to improve their chances. They likely won’t score much.

Why are State fans so confident? This is a serious question. You have a new coaching staff and even if they are awesome, there is a learning curve and adjustment period on the team.

I agree. I think they will be good but they are glossing over many things that might not go their way.

And despite last year's score, I would never mark off Kentucky as a sure victory on the road for a team like Miss State.
