Not to mention, y'all got a new coach, and we got Cam! Not the same teams from a year ago

This is the SEC, you evolve, adapt and overcome. They will get the picture

I know you are new here and everything, but check the record over the past 6 years. Looks like a pretty good matchup to me. The one anomaly was 1/9/12. Other than that, every game is a war and could go either way. I think that both teams respect one another and give each other their best game. It is ignorant fans who say things like you just said.

And, of course, A&M fans are living vicariously through Alabama right now because you beat them and could not beat LSU at home. We get it.

BSC appearances (6yrs), results and recruiting (4 yrs), I will go with, in no particular order-

Bama
Oregon
VaTech
Ohio St
Florida
Stanford
Wisconsin
Okla
LSU
Texas
and Auburn should be on the list (Championship and recruiting)
and USC a championship, 2 BCS appearances and 2 top five signing classes 2 of last four years.

You and Benny enjoy.

Still can't find a way to get you guys on the list.

Always interesting to read multiple perspectives. It's why I enjoy this board.

Interesting how low some have LSU right now. If they hold against Clemson (which they should have) and keep them from completing a 4th and 19 desperation pass, LSU finished 11-2 and ranked around #5. If they get a first down at the end of the Alabama game, they are playing for their second straight SEC title against Georgia with a chance to blow out Notre Dame in the BCSCG. The 2011 LSU team was one of the best college football teams of all time minus one game - at least according to who they beat and how they blew teams out all season. The 2010 team went 11-2 as well.

So, 34-6 and a national championship game appearance and an SEC title with 14 starters coming back and back to back great recruting classes and another on the way with a coach who has won 80% of his games get you rated the #10 program in the country right now?

I sense some envy. Interesting.

That is a horrid list. FSU, UGA, and TAMU shouldn't be ahead of LSU. Period.

We have consistently recruited near the top and have 2 NC's and 3 appearances in the last 10 years. We also beat UGA and TAMU in the last 2 years on the road and neither of those teams HAS DONE shite. FSU would lose 3 a year in the SEC.

I believe those lists over emphasize "right now", like next year's preseason poll or something.

The OP said to consider fans. That's the only thing keeping LSU from the top of the list IMO.

BCS game appearances (VaTech 4 of 6 years, Wisc 3 yrs in a row), both in weak conferences - recipe for future success.

- Virginia Tech 1-5 in BCS games. They lost 6 games last year in a easy conference (that looks to have shifted power back to Florida State and Clemson).
- Wisconsin is 2-2 in BCS games. They finished 8-6 last season. They do benefit from competing in the Big 1G, but the power shift has looked to shift back to Ohio State and possibly Michigan. That being said, they've got a new coaching staff. That could be a good thing or a bad thing, we will just have to wait and see. That being said, I still don't think these two belong in the top 10 list.

Also I think in their entire history they have one maybe two wins against a top 10 team.
The only time they could win a BCS game was against Cincy. Hell they even lost to Kansas in a BCS game. They are a joke of a program.

I doubt any A&M fans honestly believe they're on the same level as Texas. That's like Auburn saying they're the same as Bama.

Yeah, it's not like we didn't smoke them in recruiting last year and are absolutely raping them for '14. It's not like A&M is about to start the largest stadium project in the history of college football or that our facilities are now superior to Texas. A&M/Texas simply isn't an accurate comparison to Auburn/Bama. A&M is larger and more politically powerful than Texas now. That's just never going to happen for Auburn/Bama. The dynamic in Texas is just different and the SEC move has permanently changed the game not only for Texas but for all of the Big 12.

Talking about how things were even 2 or 3 years ago is almost irrelevant. With the SEC in Texas now that is where all the best kids want to go. It's not just A&M but LSU is taking their share and Bama and others are gaining more and more traction. It's really damaging Texas and it is killing OU but more importantly it doesn't show any signs of changing anytime soon. The SEC is a true national brand while the Big 12 is becoming more and more regionalized.

Just recently you had the only elite DT in the State of Texas who grew up a Longhorn fan go to their Jr day. They got him to get dressed up in a uniform and all kinds of gear. Even had him hang out with VY and get a pic doing a "hook'em". Then he came to A&M's Jr day the next week and committed to A&M on the spot saying how A&M was clearly just a better program right now with better facilities. Realize Texas got no DL last year at all and is desperate for a guy like him while A&M got 3 of the Top 4 so he is walking in to a ton of competition for play time. That is how much things have changed and how fast, 3 years ago that kid doesn't even visit A&M and commits to Texas on the spot.

Texas will be able to get back in the thick of things because they have so much money and so many resources but for right now they are on the decline. It's becoming obvious that Mack and Deloss are gone in the next year and some major shakeups are on the way in their AD. Texas is about to experience some serious pain in fixing the problems they have. Once those problems are fixed they will be fine but they haven't even started the process yet.
