Name another QB that improved, from one year to the next, better than Burrow

I’m an Alabama fan. Let’s go ahead and get that out of the way. Even though my team didn’t play as well this year as in previous years, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy watching Burrow play this year. He’s a great QB. To me, it’s been remarkable to watch the improvement from last year to this year. That can’t ALL be due to a new offensive system.....but maybe it is. Has he talked about something clicking mentally?
With that in mind, what other QBs from recent history can you think of that really improved to such a degree from one year to the next? Yeah, I know, it’s tough to improve to a Heisman and NC winner, future #1 pick, but you know what I mean.

Baker Mayfield maybe?

Baker was a stud even when he had the job at the end of his fish year at tech. He just didn’t like that he wasn’t guaranteed the job in the spring (wuss) and was not immediately given a full scholarship (rightfully)

Last year he arrived 6 weeks prior to the season and split reps with 3 other QBs in a competition to win the job. He said he didn’t even know all his teammates names at the time of the first game. He also hadn’t played from under center since middle school so his footwork and reads while dropping back were sloppy.
This year he got a full offseason with the team and we played in the shotgun where he is comfortable. He said he also worked heavily on footwork and off platform throws in the offseason.

the answer is honestly probably no one but for the sake of discussing QBs who have had massive improvement over one year, I'll throw out Jason Campbell and Johnathan Crompton. Erik Ainge too

None
Simple answer, no QB has improved as much as Burrow did as late in his College career as he did (RS-Sr)
This means nothing bad for LSU, but if I were the Bengals I'd trade outta of the #1 spot and stockpile picks instead of gambling on a 1 year wonder
In the NFL Burrow will regress to his normal mean

If you watch 2018 games from start to finish he got much better as well. Really in that first game against Miami you could see he had the mental aspects of the game down. But he was under center too much, the system was not set up for his skills, dropped passes were an epidemic, patterns were sloppy, OL line play inconsistent, etc. But I think LSU fans who watched every game were very bullish on him entering this season. A lot of the pre season criticism of him was just completely ignorant. And then everything came together and we had unsurpassed magic.
And let’s not pretend people here understood what they were seeing from Joe or this LSU offense. Only after we played your team ( whoever you were) did the lightbulb go off. Nobody wanted to believe what their eyes were seeing . It just didn’t match people’s perception of an LSU offense ( understandably) and so everybody was skeptical until he shredded their team.

Nathan Peterman.
Nice one...I was thinking Jonathan Crompton
He went from a passer rating of 98.1 to 136.0 from '08 to '09.

Myles Brennan from 2019 to 2020.

Burrow found Bradley Cooper’s Limitless super pills.

I will content that most people simply believe the narrative about players as oppose to what is on the field. Joe Burrow at the end of last year was basically the same player. The biggest difference for Joe this year was his receivers took it to the next level. By the end of last year, he was playing close to this level already. Go look at the throws to Sullivan in the UCF game, he was dropping dimes.
I think the most improved players from last year to this year is LSU’s receiving corps. They dominated football. Joe was hitting them last year but they were dropping more than normal.

Driskel maybe? It wasn't as large of a jump but didn't he improve drastically when he went from Florida to LaTech? Thought he went from~1k yards to over 4k yards.
Yes, I know the competition was different. I just remember thinking that he was terrible at Florida. Peterman at Tennessee too

Ha ha there was no competition for the starting job when Burrow signed. Burrow was penciled in as the starter as soon as he agreed to come to LSU.

Can’t really think of one.
In two years, Cam improved from #3 on UF’s depth chart behind Tebow on John MFing Brantley to AU’s #1.
LSU will miss Brady.

That's easy. Johnny Manziel in 2011 (true freshman year) was 4th string at best behind Ryan Tannehill, Jameill Showers and Matt Joeckel and only saw playing time on the practice squad.
One year later and he breaks records all over the place en route to becoming the first ever freshman (redshirt or otherwise) to win the Heisman.

And when we trot out the same offense and scheme will you progs finally STFU and realize That Brady didn't suddenly reinvent the RPO/West Coast offense?
