Tuas the obvious answer for most. Incredible talent with small stature and a great attitude.
I’m gonna go with Willie Gay LBer from State. When it looked like doom and gloom for LSU on the recruiting trail a coupe of years ago at LBer Willie helped us land a monster.
Chris Allen and Dylan Moses had both spurned LSU for the Tide but kept hanging around and teasing tiger fans. Willie Gay and Jacob Phillips grew very close at the Army All-American Game and Willie convinced Phillips (who was committed to Oklahoma) to come on a visit to LSU with him. Willie had the famous quote when a reporter asked him about LSU desperately needing linebackers he said “tell them Willie Gay is on the way”
In the end Willie stayed close to home and played for his state (greatly respect that) but we ended up landed Jacob Phillips who’s a stud. State fans- how’s he looking this year? Starter?
Here’s to you Willie!

I’m guessing you equally disrespect Phillips for leaving his?

Grant Delpit.
He’s one cool cat and a Houstonian.
Plus I have a soft spot for safeties.

I have the same answer since last year. Joe Burrow. Will never be a Heisman contender, will never be a nfl starter, but that's I why I like him. The kid has moxie. He is tough and not afraid to jump up in a dlineman's face. Just has the edgy infectious attitude which his teammates always respond positively to. He takes a shot and jumps in a guy's face, and LSU get pumped. The other team is supposed to get pumped when they get a shot on the qb. Joe also has this uncanny ability to make defenses forget he is a running threat. He doesn't overuse this gift and ruin it, oh no, not Joe. Much too smart for that. He waits until key moments of the game to take off for first downs and touchdowns. Joe is my favorite non Bama player in a decade. He is like a throwback to yester year when qb had to takes shots and be tough.

Grant Delpit was originally from New Orleans but moved to Houston because of Katrina.

I know.
Many stories just like his.
Glad he’s doing well—that’s all that matters.

Jake Bentley comes across as a pretty chill dude even though per announcers, 'he should be attending his sixth grade dance this year but here he is QB'ng an SEC team.'
