Najee Harris is a tough Alabama Football running back who leaps over would-be tacklers.
Hayden Miller is a 14-year-old who has never walked.
One magical night, their paths crossed.
This is their story.
Najee Harris is a picture of health: Strong and talented at 230 pounds, the Bama star can do just about anything he wants.
Hayden Miller is a picture of happiness: He has never taken a step. He has never spoken a word. Yet Hayden can sense when something big is about to happen, his tapping foot proof of that excitement.
Najee Harris is thoughtful and kind, a generous young man who turned 22 a week ago today.
Hayden Miller is thoughtful and kind, a generous young man who will turn 15 on May 25th.
Najee Harris quietly entered Tuscaloosa's Valley View Baptist Church as heads turned. The Night To Shine event would give special needs teenagers and adults a chance to mingle, to share hugs and fellowship. On this night, Najee Harris was in the building.
Hayden Miller has had a difficult 14 years. Born with Wolf Hirschhorn syndrome, a chromosome disorder, Hayden is non-mobile and non-verbal. He suffers seizures while being fed through a tube. Yet when music is played and that foot starts tapping, Hayden forgets about his challenges, if just for a moment.
Najee Harris showed his compassion as he moved throughout the church. And as he moved toward Hayden, the buzz in the church grew,.
Hayden Miller glanced toward the football star, and as Najee glanced back and the music played, Hayden's foot started tapping. While Najee was perhaps unaware of the moment, Hayden's parents, Lance and Tiffany, certainly were. Smiles filled the room as the big, strong Alabama football star made the evening an evening to remember.
Najee Harris is looking for a huge senior season at Alabama- a thousand rushing yards would be a good place to start.
Hayden Miller is looking forward to tomorrow, as his daily fight continues. He is also looking forward to someday seeing Najee again, his tapping foot a sign that the thought of Najee Harris will never leave him.

Despite him playing for Alabama, I respect this guy. Certainly a kind gesture and one that should be recognized, but even more so if he did it on his own without any instruction from Alabama.

Cool story, and good on him for spending time with special needs kids.
But the person who wrote the story must be a soap-opera script writer looking for work.

If he stays healthy , he will win the Heisman this year. Saban is going to get him 25 touches per game this year.

Stand up dude and excellent player

I doubt it. Trey, Brian, and Keilan will need touches too.

He’s an idiot if he doesn’t. Bama wins the iron bowl by double digits if they had stuck with Najee.

Najee Harris is truly a great person.
A large contingent of LSU fans are, apparently, not.

Not so sure about that. Every team has it’s dumb and rude fans. We have plenty. But most of us respect najee. He’s a great player and he seems to be an even better person

Najee Harris is a full grown man running a football.
Bama's had so many great RBs, wonder where their fans rank him.

California football players are usually underwhelming in the sec. He’s par for the course

He ran for 1200+ yards and 13 TDs last year.
Also you're a dumbass

Underwhelming relative to Bama backs. You could put a lot of backs behind a Bama offense/OLine and get that production. If he was good he’d be in the nfl draft this year.
He was billed as Adrian Peterson level out of high school. Nicky passes on Cam Akers, Travis Etienne etc for him. For what he was supposed to be, he’s a bust. California mentality, usually produces pussies that mentally can’t live up to their physical skills.
