Speaking of mudbugs, my neighbor was given 60 lbs of crawfish on the free this past weekend. There's a place in the old Capn D's building that apparently sells seafood and my neighbor is friends with the coonass owner.
Well, long story short, my neighbor got a call from him saying he had a cancelled order and just gave him 60 facking pounds. My neighbor hails from Monroe and knew how to purge em and cook em up, which he did this past Sunday.
I was very skeptical about eating crawfish in Aug/Sept but they were very good and surprisingly big.

For instance, when you wear slacks and a button down shirt, tailgate in the grove snacking on little tidbits on china, then after the game go out to eat at a nice restaurant, that is being conservative.
Sounds about as fun as a funeral.

You sure these aren't crabs you're thinking of?

Very logical and sound reasoning.
I just know it was a great ending to a day consisting of andouille sausage sammiches for breakfast, Boudin links and from scratch(cooked overnight) gumbo for lunch, and "Spike It" for family entertainment.

Man these were straight up crawfish. Just to be safe I only ate about 8-10 of em, worried that they were filled with oil or something. But neither me nor my neighbors got sick.

If they haven't been frozen, I sure as hell wouldn't trust 'em.
.....and once I made the mistake of eating a crawfish that wasn't curled.

My son and I went to LSU at OLE MISS 2003, (Eli's last swan dive)sporting our colors and sat in the middle of the Ole Miss side. Had a ball!!! Wear the colors. Other than a prick that threw a corndog at us last year at missie state we haven't had a problem at other schools.Just chain your portapottie to a tree before you go in there. Just kidding, have fun.

they don't taste bad at all. Not as great as fresh off the boat or anything.....but still some good quality mudbugs.

They got em live. IDK something tells me that I am glad I only ate a few.

I remember hearing that MSU sold corndogs. My coonass buddy was at that game in a suite invited by a MSU fan in his family.
He walked in proudly sporting a corndog in each hand.

You wear your colors. My family has a tailgate at every LSU/Om game.I host when we're playing in BR and they host when we find ourselves in Oxford. Last time in BR, we fed about 5 OM students gumbo, jambalaya and the trimmings even after you all embarrassed us in our own house...as long as you play nice, we play nice...but if you're so sensitive that "Tiger Bait" chant gets you upset, then probably best thing is to stay at home in your living room dressed in your colors.

I've never been fricked with when I went down there. Most people are extremely friendly as long as you don't take it personally when they rip on you and don't talk mad shite. The only problems I ever have on the road in the SEC are usually from students.
You will get free food and drink at the same time as you're being tiger-baited.
Because that's how we roll!

I just don't see them staying alive this long.
but IIRC, there's a mudbug farm somewhere in west Mississippi. And you can always get some from China.......but that's like buying a burger at McDonalds vs making your own patties at the house and grilling them.

I left out the booze too. But I just figured that was a given.
We usually do themed tailgates. For the Arky game, we had pulled pork. I'm figuring we'll do something with chicken for the JSU gamecocks game this weekend.
oh....and btw....All that food over the day mixed with several types of alky = meggaaamuuudddbuttttttttt all day Sunday.

Damn, what will you cook for the Vandy, Fresno, AU, UK, State games if you do themes based on food?

Even the packs of frozen tails at grocery stores in LA mostly come from China. I bought it once to make crawfish pie and will never do it again. Frozen LA tails can be found, however I now usually do a boil right at the end of the season and vacuum freeze a bunch of tail meat for pies, etouffee, and the like
