Is it possible to have a civil question and answers on SEC rant?

I want to know the opinions on this, not discussion the upcoming game just the Auburn-Florida game:

You have a backup quarterback who took a lot of hits. He sprains his knee. Goes to locker room and comes out with a tiny limp and a soft brace.

And in the 4th quarter you run him in sneaks and designed carries, and even a designed reception.

Isn’t that careless? I mean the reception he had put the game away so a lot of the plays before that needed to happen regardless, just seemed reckless. I can’t be the only one thinking that?

I thought it was ridiculous just like you did. The cute pass from TE Krull to Trask came at a time in the game when I didn't think we needed to get cute, and the fourth down sneak play hasn't worked this year even when the QB didn't have a sprained MCL. I guess the trainers told Mullen that Trask was fine, but it still seemed suspect to me.

When you’re starting a backup high school quarterback, there clearly isn’t much left behind him.

I kinda thought the same thing. Especially after HIS backup came in and held his own. Actually surprised me.

Should we be outraged? Tell us what “normal” fans would do about this? Billboard perhaps?

It was reckless. It’s obvious ole Doofus Dan wasn’t thinking about the well being of Trask.

A Georgia fan with a negative comment about Florida. So cliche.

Trask is already not that type of runner and Dan still seemed to force him to run those plays with a gimmpy knee.

Made no sense to me at all.

At times I wonder if Mullen actually likes Trask.

He loved Feleipe and would be dancing on the sideline with him and would start him even though he clearly just wasn't progressing.

I think Trask just doesn't fit his scheme but he really has no choice but to start him because he's our only chance to really win in the SEC and beyond. Emory looked serviceable, but he's also a very good runner.

The only problem is that if Emory goes down, we're right back to Trask as the only guy on the roster. So to me I think Mullen should just give up on the power QB run.

The answer, though, is that I have no idea. It made no logical sense and when the commentators are letting you have it, it's not a good look.

Great movie, sequel sucked

I guess so, even still with a healthy QB those are crazy calls. With a tenuous QB? Would be out of the question for me.

Idk...? Not sure what you’re insinuating

Just wondering if I was the only one.

According to some people here, Mrs. Mullen gives extra benefits to injured players. Maybe Trask audibled into those plays in hopes of visiting the injury tent again.

Trask is a 2 star guy that hasn’t started since his freshmen year in high school . I am sure if the trainers let him play then he will play. He doesn’t want to lose his playing time to Jones.

You're not. I really thought Emory needed to be in for that last series. Mullen was asked about making Trask a receiver on the trick play during his presser yesterday and I thought his answer was wanting. Basically said, "No one was gonna be on him. He just needed to get down and win the game." Yeah, except that less than perfectly thrown ball hung up there forever. Dude could have gotten rocked. Fortunate that he didn't.

I think dan might actually hate trask the way he's treating him.

clearly he was injured. then the 3rd stringer came in and actually played well. no no, can't have that, so back in trask goes.

Doubt he will be in for long. The third stringer actually looked good the other day, and much more mobile.

Lucky for Mullen nothing happened to Trask post-injury on those called runs. Had Trask injured his knee beyond the initial MCL sprain, Mullen would be judged careless & unconcerned for a player’s well-being.

Like when he ignored #1 recruit Steele & Steele ended up transfer portalling the fvk outta Gainesville to get away from his rapist roommate, who Mullen also ignored despite the red flags.

It just highlights a failure on Mullen’s part to think about his players. He wouldn’t have had to start a pocket-passer in Trask had he shown McElwain recruit Matt Corral a little love but instead Mullen ignored the 4 star QB & Ole Miss stole him. Corral wanted to be a Gator just like Steele but Mullen ignored them both & they split.

It’s the new Gator Standard: Mullen Mullening.

Has there been any competition at practice since Franks went down? Emory seems to be a better fit than Trask. Or does he not have the playbook down enough for them to open it up?
