This is SOP for media releases when a new coach takes over for an ousted coach. it's like rinse and repeat with every program

McElwain won the East by default... the entire division was horrible during those seasons... it still is horrible with the exception of Georgia who finally emerged last season to be a national contender.

It is SOP. Players making huge gainz during the Spring and offseason.

However, it was know that the S&C coach under Mac sucked. Word was getting out after the second season under Mac. Players going outside the program for training and rehab. Weight room was in disorder and equipment went missing.

In hindsight, this issue had a role to play in Grier get popped. Grier did not check with the S&C staff because they were idiots.

UF 2015 and 2016 did not resemble UGA 2017. That comparison is absurd.

2015 UF:
2nd place east team had 3 SEC losses, which was an unranked UT which UF beat by 1. Got shellacked in SECCG. Went 1-2 against the west. Lost citrus bowl.

2016 UF:
2nd place east team had 4 SEC losses, whihc was UT that UF lost to. Got shellakced in SECCG. Went 1-2 against the west. Won outback bowl.

2017 UGA:

2nd place east team had 3 SEC losses, which was SC which UGA manhandled. Dominated the SECCG. Went 2-2 against the west (both losses to top 4 teams). Won Rose Bowl and played for natty.

Somethign tells me our season was a bit different than the 2 you referenced.

Say what you want and I know he didn't recruit em but UF put a ton of players in the NFL including several #1's in '15.'16 and '17

S&C couldn't have been too bad...those guts were obviously in the S&C program when he took over.

You are such a fricktard of a poster.

I've actually enjoyed the UGA resurgence and have been looking forward to the Kirby-Muschamp rivalry of sorts ... and most UGA fans have been somewhat gracious about their newfound potential return to glory.

Then you remind me .... there are still drunk arse slobbering entitled frat brat dawg types running around barking in your face, puking on the sidewalks and insulting your women while you're walking to the stadium.

I'm curious to see how Kirby does going forward. He and UGA kinda shocked the CFB world this season. Getting there is one thing, but staying there with the cross-hairs constantly on you is a totally different case.

Just from a recruiting standpoint, it's a totally different game recruiting studs to a name brand that needs immediate play contribution, as opposed to riding the pine or being used in clean-up duty for a year, maybe two, behind other studs.

You're right. The East was much more difficult to win in 15-16.

My personal assessment as far as eye test

Bama and UGA are easily the two biggest teams in the league.

Auburn and LSU have a bunch of big guys but not the same shear number as Bama and UGA. I would say these 4 teams are consistently in the top 10 as far as size and strength.

A&M and Miss State starting 22 have good size and strength. Noticeable drop off once backups come in.

The rest look to have a clear size and strength disadvantage from the top 6 IMO.

I know it may be easy to lose track with our proliferation of newer shitheads but BHM is one of the better posters we have. He's our version of SOG that actually posts stats, facts, and other worthwhile things.

Blame it on jvilletiger...he immediately comes on here and makes an idiotic comparison between Mcelwain and CKS.

Typical Aubbie, their child like behavior and obsession towards UGA never disapoints

I just want UF to continue the trend of hiring coaches with a last name that starts with "M", for consistency purposes.

I'm not gonna predict any titles or anything, but I think he's got staying power. Him and Richt have had remarkably similar first 2 years, but there is a pretty clear difference between how they operate. Kirby has put a MASSIVE focus on the LOS (which richt never did to be honest), and obviously we're recruiting better than we ever have in our history. One big difference is today's SEC is much harder than when richt got started so it kinda balances out, but I guess my ultimate thought is that I highly doubt kirby is a flash in the pan that had one outstanding season but is gonna fall by the wayside.
