The losers always say it doesn’t matter and the winners always say it matters. So let’s go ahead and get this out of the way....

Is this game important or not? My opinion is that it is important because of RPI and SOS. Also I wouldn’t exactly bet on us winning. If we do win, it’ll be something dumb like by 10 runs and then we get swept this weekend.

Of course it matters.

Rpi, sos, and state

It is only important if The Mississippi State Bulldogs win.

It’s important. IMO i think the winner of Tuesdays loses the weekend series

Seems like the winner of this game typically loses 2 of 3 in the real series. I agree though, that it only "matters" to the winners.

It's an important game. It's an opportunity to get a solid RPI win pretty much every year, and it's a rivalry game

Of course it matters. The people that say it doesn't must not have any friends from the opposing team.

But that doesn't change much , win or lose. So yes, the game matters but the outcome doesn't really

Will not be on secN. I recommend Hailstate + radio. It’s free on your laptop or phone and you get to listen to the best baseball broadcaster on the planet

I would love to be at this game. This kind of stuff is why I love college sports.

Will be fun. Not as fun as when Jake pitched a win against them but it will be fun

Apparently not since it's the only game of the year that isn't available for streaming. Wtf?

This. SEC tv rights only apply in SEC stadiums.

It definitely helps the winning team. With both teams having good RPIs, it doesn’t necessarily hurt the losing team though.

It's a huge momentum game, but at the end of the day it's both of our #4 pitchers going at it. We have a whole series to figure out who the better team is.
