Haha
No one knows what this guy is like. He is a complete unknown hire. All these people are basing this on one comment Hood made before he decided to transfer and comments from the coach.
Like a new coach is going to come in and say "yeah i am not going to make these guys work hard, and pretty much let these mother frickers do what they want"

I can't even get mad anymore. It is now reached the point of being comical.
I can't wait to watch a bunch of walk on white guys get their arse beat.... I seriously may go try out for the team just for the lulz

Exactly. If State had hired anyone with the slightest taste of credibility, none of these guys are transferring. It tells you a lot for this many guys to decide that sitting on a bench for a year is a better option than playing for Ray. The program is imploding around him and he has no idea what to do because he is completely unqualified for the job.

It is comically bad, never forget we are Mississippi State
If Lewis and Steele are gone out of our roster of 16 last year we will have 4 left.
And we are going to lose a few recruits as well.

What are you State fans thoughts on the fact that Rick Ray has never been a head coach at any level? That would worry me.

Originally I thought it was Hood going with him, but apparently Steele is following assistant Phil Cunningham to Western Kentucky (that's what's rumored).

Has Bundy weighed in yet? I eagerly await his take on this situation.

I thought it was a shitty hire
And stuff that has happened since then has not dissuaded me from that thought.
We won't be good for a few years.

He was the one that corrected me when I mentioned Hood going in the Hood thread and said it was Steele that was rumored to go with Cunningham. But he also said those rumors had cooled quite a bit so I think he was thinking it wasn't going to happen.

Well maybe we can pull a few good recruits by pitching "guaranteed playing time"

I have never seen a team meltdown like this one. Of course with every coaching change there are usually a couple that leave, but this is just ludicrous.

LSU had a similar situation when Brady took over and again after Swift left, but that had to do with sanctions and stupid NCAA rules that applied at the time. I think there were only 5 or 6 players on scholarship in '00-'01. I don't remember. It was pretty brutal. (2-14 in SEC)

No credibility is what made their ears perk up and a red flag go off. Hard training is what is pushing them to another school.

Neither was Stansbury. Our all-time winningest coach. But he also sucked. If we had just fired his dumbass two years ago like we should have, we could have made a much better hire. That's where the AD messed up.

A few years ago, we weren't that far removed from a good bit of success. It wouldn't have made much sense for us to can him a few years ago.
In hindsight, last year would have been the best year. Moultrie and Bost would have been stuck and we still might have had a good chance of landing Hood. Scott missed his window of opportunity for a clean transition.
