MS to change flag, there was an amendment to name the bill after MSU RB Kylin Hill

Hill is going to be a sports media darling this year. When the Pirate leads MSU to a 7-5 season and Kylin has decent numbers, he's going to win the Heisman.

They changed it in less than 2 weeks, guess not too many people gave a damn about it changing if they moved this fast

There was one protestor yesterday and two families today.

So the flag is gone and Mississippi is still irrelevant. Nice job you betas.

They changed it as soon as the SEC and NCAA said it was time. They give a shite about football. Kylin happened to bring it to the forefront but no one cared enough about his personal playing time to vote in one direction or the other based on whether he personally played -- more to do with having football and sports in general without being seen as a pariah that isn't even allowed to host events as well as being able to recruit black kids in general without harming themselves out of the gate.

Now is the time for Jackson, MS to demand the SEC move the championship football game to Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Mississippi State should demand the NCAA move a final four game to Starkville.
I am sure both of these requests will fly.
(fly in one ear and out the other)

I’ve said it before, I want the SEC home office moved to Jackson. 24/7/365 direct support from the SEC powers that be is the only acceptable option.

Nah, it's the "anti-sensitive pussies who want to celebrate traitors and losers" bill.

Like Joey Freshwater coming in and dominating recruiting?

Don't hold your breath.
And Jackson is a bigger shithole than Birmingham.

I’m still wondering why the state of Mississippi did it… There is absolutely no chance of either of those teams hosting any sort of championship event anytime soon.

They would've been banned from hosting baseball Regionals which State, Ole Miss, and USM have all done multiple times this century and are a big deal for the local economy, as are the women's basketball tournament games that State hosts pretty much every year now.
There was also a fear that it wouldn't have stopped at that, there were rumblings of SEC schools refusing to play in MS if the flag was still up. At that point you're talking about State and Ole Miss losing their biggest regular season home games and at that point you might as well have just exiled them from the league.
I don't think sports were the only factor, the moment I really sensed things might actually change was when the MS Baptist Association and other religious organizations weighed in. At the beginning of last week I fully expected no change to be made and State and Ole Miss to be royally screwed by all of this. Late in the week the narrative shifted though and things got done.

Now all the SEC teams should refuse to play in Georgia, since their state flag is the original Confederate flag.

The current Georgia flag is aesthetically very similar to our previous state flags.

College football is done.
I could care less what the MS flag looks like but giving 18 yr olds this kind of influence and power will ruin the sport. Football will now be full of SJW campaigns.
