guess I'm gonna have to be a bit more tolerant of you yahoos. She grew up a Dawg but is already 100% Vol
It really is a cool place. From what little I've seen we all love Knoxville. Before this summer my only experience were UGA games at Neyland....those memories are a little fuzzy.

My wife and I both went to LSU. Our oldest graduated from Bama in December...
We failed miserably as parents!

I feel you Triumph...and unless you now live in Alabama that was a dam expensive failure!

You're a good father WorkinDawg :) My daughter is a senior in HS and interested in Auburn's Pharmacy program. I may have a bad cold on move-in day if that happens

That's gotta be a tough thing for parents to go through. Congrats to her though and kudos to you guys for supporting her through out the process. Excluding COVID, she couldn't have picked a better time to move up here. Knoxville is a great town and downtown is exploding with things to do -- welcome!

Tell her to stay the frick away from pharmacy. Terrible career right now to drop 150 grand on.

HBack- that's funny. Warning- my UGA grad wife wants me to wear a Vol tee for move in. Considering how unprincipled that would be, and social media.....

As someone who is married to someone who works in Talent acquisition for the last 15 years at CVS Health
This statement is 100% factually incorrect. Now maybe you were being sarcastic... Dont know.
CVS I know for a fact is hiring people out of Pharmacy school as quickly as they can graduate. I live in Athens GA and my wife personally referred (and got hired by CVS) 3 UGA Pharmacy school grads this year.. To boot all 3 got to PICK where they moved to.
I think that is an EXCELLENT choice for job security and a job out of school.

Don't lose hope. I actually liked UT until I lived there for 4 years. Love the region around Knoxville though.

As someone who is actually a pharmacist and graduated more recent than your wife, the job market is terrible and salaries are decreasing.
CVS is always hiring because they subscribe to the “burn em out and replace em” philosophy. There is an endless supply of desperate new grads
Spending 6-8 years and 150k on tuition for $50/hr and 32h/week guaranteed is a fricking horrible investment, and that is what new grads are being offered
Become a nurse for a fraction of the tuition, easy mobility, and work everywhere in the country.
Become a physician if that’s beneath you.
Don’t go to pharmacy school.

I have a niece who is a Phamarcy Tech at CVS who makes nearly $50K a year 40 hours a week with a high school diploma. I'd say the pharmacy industry is a growth industry....$50K a year for pretty undemanding work physically for 40 hours a week with bennies on a HS diploma ain't a bad lick....by the way she loves her job and says CVS is a great company to work for for what its worth....

Classy there Gopher who lives in Montana.
Actually quite proud her years at CVS and the things they do to invest in hiring veterans, young people, etc. It is a great company to work for.
But hey sounds like you have a personal vendetta. Anyway its an internet message board and there is nothing i can do about it. But geez. You have no idea what my wife does at CVS...

I prevented my daughter from going to UT after I learned that all the good looking UT coeds moonlight as strippers.

We went to my Bama daughter's first parents' weekend at her sorority decked out in purple and gold. She just rolled with it.

Actually, you are correct. My wife was going to go into pharmacy at a time that a pharmacist could just about pick where they wanted to work and what hours they wanted to work. (A long, long time ago) (As a matter of fact we were living in Baton Rouge at the time and she was going to go to LSU, because they have/had a really good pharmacy program)
I was talking to a young lady the other day who had considered Pharmacy and she said it was an awful thing to get into today. After doing research she said she changed majors and went into a completely different direction.
