Member when this board convinced themselves that it was impossible to have a good defense with Malzahn's offense?

To be fair, people thought that when’s Malzahn’s offense was actually good.

Fair point. I'll allow it.

I would love to see Bama's effieciency numbers before last season.
Our defense was pretty bad last year.

LSU with an offense would scare the dogshit out of everyone.
It's why we are actually hyped as frick this year.

Your offense will avg less than 26. That’s how it goes. Can’t have both at the same time otherwise it’s too obvious we’re all cheating.

What’s sad is “pretty bad” for Bama is still finishing 7th in these efficiency ratings.
I’ll scrape from further back and update in the morning. The command center is now out of commission in the Warrior household due to some nasty weather.

It can just be extremely difficult when your offense scores at light speed and the defense gets next to no rest, especially in a hurry up offense.
But Steele has definitely done wonders for your D. It’s a shame for Auburn Gus keeps trying to throw the ball behind the line of scrimmage to some talented receivers y’all have had the last couple years. I’ve enjoyed it.

Fat and slow is how I saw it, yet I got shite on for saying so.
Hopefully, your latest lean-machine purchase from Amite will help.
Lulz.

Well, you were wrong, so you should have gotten shite. Our defense wasn't sub-par because it was built like 2010, it was sub-par because our LBs were young and/or bad at angling, our #3 corner moved to #2 after the Diggs injury and got abused and our FS was prone to bad angles and missed tackles.
Had absolutely nothing to do with being fat and slow. Our MLBs were the slimmest and fastest MLBs we've ever had.

But now the question is "Is it possible for Malzahn to have a good offense if he's got a good defense?"

Yes the first year was a Peter Sirmon defense. Complete garbage.

Being honest Sopsher film wasnt impressive to me. Seems sloppy and out of shape.....hopefully Saban/Cochran get him right.

As mentioned, in the last two years we are probably Top 5 or at least Top 10 in the nation. 2016 was a Peter Sirmon pile of flaming dogcrap.
