Democrat Doug Jones 2 point win in the Alabama Senate election to replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions old Senate seat saved the state of Alabama the total embarrassment of Roy Moore and helped Tide recruiting. A Moore victory would have been horrible press for the State of Alabama for two full recruiting cycles. Moore would have become the face of politics in Alabama seen by many african-american mothers and fathers of top recruits as a racist child molester. It would have hurt Alabama recruiting badly.

I despise both candidates in the race but Jones will only be there for 2 years. A middle of the road conservative has the advantage to win the seat back for the GOP in 2020.

Does that make Saban a slave master? That may literally be the dumbest shite I have read on here in the last month and that is saying something.

You don't need Roy Moore for Alabama to have a bad reputation.

I think if black athletes were making a decision on where to play based on politics they would've left Alabama long ago. Honestly if black people where making a decision on where to live based on politics they would've left long ago too.

For as much as you hear about the South being racist, black people, outside of college students who are taught to hate it by a system that's screwing them, seem to like it down here.
