Former Tennessee running back Montario Hardesty will join Jeremy Pruitt’s first staff in Knoxville, a source close to the program told GoVols247 on Thursday night.
Hardesty, a former All-SEC star, has spent the past year on former Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin’s staff at Florida Atlantic, and he spent the 2015 season coaching special teams at Norfolk State.
It’s believed that Hardesty will serve in a quality control coaching position on the offensive side of the ball, potentially working with the Vols’ wide receivers.
After struggling with injuries and splitting reps with players like Arian Foster his first three seasons at Tennessee, Hardesty enjoyed a breakout season as a senior under Kiffin, collecting 1,647 yards and 14 touchdowns on 307 offensive touches. He was then selected by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft, but injuries cut short his professional career after a few seasons.

I really don't understand why this would get down voted.

Because an army of shitty Georgia posters have infested the board. They mad about the clothes hanger remark I made yesterday, which I absolutely stand by, btw.

Injuries, and we had a pretty loaded backfield for the first 3 years of his career.

It's not that, this thread should be on the Vols message board. I think you know that already, maybe if it was a OC or DC hire but it looks like you're just posting just to be posting.

Maybe folks here got confused as to thinking this was a "upvote if you think the Vols win, downvote if you think they'll lose."

What the heck is this board for then?? A bunch of stupid troll "small dyck swinging" threads by uga fans? Or whether or not the browns are the haiti of the nfl??
This is the kind of solid info that is good for sec fans to know about competitors.
And for the record, this got me defending a V&S thread too. Which is hard for me, but he should be encouraged when he provides a good positive informative thread.

Hiring former players as a favor is not a good way to get quality coaching

Hiring former players and high school coaches within the state is how any competent head coach gets a foot in the door. Saban did the same thing at LSU and Alabama.
It is support staff anyways.
