Chicago has some obvious cultural advantages. But I hate it. Downtown parking is awful. It’s way too cold. Food in STL is just as good. Chicago people suck, too.
ETA: property taxes and personal income tax are a joke in the state of Illinois. 5% income tax and 2.3% effective property tax rate (about double the national average).

Chicago is ok to visit in the summer, definitely wouldn’t want to live there.

I love chicago. Was more so talking from a Baseball perspective. Also, St. Louis has always been one of my favorite places to visit.
