Mizzou fans, does the state of Missouri follow CFB passionately?

Growing up in the Deep South, conversation often centered around SEC football.

On any given Saturday, most TV sets (upwards of 75%) in any given Southern state are watching their SEC team do battle.

What's the percentage up there in the Midwest? 33%?

I think 40% of Kansans watch the Jayhawks or Kansas State play football every week.

Joining the SEC elevated the exposure and interest, but given the established pro teams I doubt it ever reaches a Deep South level.

St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs are the two fanbases that come the closest to a collegiate passion level.

So you're saying, depending on what part of MO you're from:

1. Cards/Royals
2. Chiefs
3. Blues
4. Rams
5. Kansas basketball
6. Missouri football
7. Missouri basketball

Lol.

40% may watch whatever front running program they're pretending to root for that year.

Meh, Ill give you a 3/10. It should be a 2/10 but the use of "kansas" in your OP bumped it up just a bit.

Overall you are still, generally, a shitty poster.

KState fans are passionate but not numerous. ku fans are numerous (because of basketball) but could not care less about football. No way 40% of Kansans watch those two teams play each week.

Missouri folks are a lot MORE passionate than they were in the 80's when I was a kid, but a lot of that is because the games are on TV. When I was a kid I didn't know anybody other than one neighbor who went to Mizzou that was a big Tiger fan. I wore a ku sweatshirt that my Mom got on clearance somewhere to their house one day and I learned real quick that wasn't going to fly

But now you see Mizzou gear all over my hometown where you wouldn't have seen a fraction of that 15, 20 yrs ago. But it'll never come close to states like Alabama because of the Rams/Chiefs/Blues/Cardinals/Royals/SportingKC.

Now now, just because you barely lead (1 or 3 games depending on which side's perspective you use) one of the nation's worst football programs in the all-time series is no reason to get angry.

I'm sure y'all "play down to their level." You'll always be better than them in my book

Mizzou sucked for a long time, it takes time to rebuild that.

Mizzou basketball should be lower.

I can't speak for the Western part of the state. On the Eastern side it's the Cardinals >>>>>>>> everyone else.

I also believe if the St. Louis Rams move, St. Louis will become a huge SEC style fan base for Mizzou football.

No need in getting upset, sport. I asked a legitimate question and some of our more mature, reasonable posters answered knowledgeably.

I'm not upset, guy. Just wanted to provide some insight.

You're welcome.
