A second rape allegation from 2010 became public. He is off the team.

Looks also like classy Mike Anderson helped cover it up.

quote:

According to a source who worked in the basketball office in 2010, Anderson said there was no substantial evidence to suspend Dixon indefinitely, but that Anderson knew that if he did not take any action, it would cause a backlash. "Anderson was like, 'We're going to believe our players,'" said the source, who requested anonymity for fear of reprisals. "It was important that they suspend Dixon those first few games because it wasn't in the real season, and they needed him to play during the actual games." "They weren't adamant about finding the truth out," the source said. "It was good that she dropped it and they weren't going to push it any further."

Except there was evidence..

Your article says there was no actual evidence at the time and that Anderson trusted his players word, wtf is wrong with that you dolt?

Man Mizzou fans obsession with hating on CMA is ridiculous.

Except you didn't read the article...

A nurse who examined the woman afterward said in the report that she thought that given the injuries the woman sustained, force was involved.

So Haith lets him play all last year when he needed him since he can't recruit, but now that he doesn't since his transfers are now eligible he gets the boot.

No dumbass. Anderson let him play in 2010.

Fast forward to 2012, a second rape allegation comes up this past August. Haith doesn't let Dixon play.

I would hope not, a second one? Should be off the team.

Well, if this is his second one, why did it take Haith so long to give him the boot, word must of came down from higher up.

Nothing wrong with trusting your players.

What a coach should do IMO.

Poor Mizzou fans.

You contradicted yourself (doubt you'll even know how you did). Haith recruited those transfers, he recruited a great class that are freshman now, and has great commitments already for next year.

Plus you're a fricking retard. This latest rape charge is what sparked the previous girl to come forward.

The legend of your stupidity grows.

Now that I had my fun with the Arky fans..

I'll say that I am impressed with Anderson's handling of it (and Haith's as well).

Here is the real story on Anderson.

quote:

Though she was unsure of who attended the meeting, soon thereafter she apparently was invited to meet with then-MU basketball coach Mike Anderson. Anderson was sympathetic, she said in a past interview with the Post-Dispatch and the source verified Wednesday, to the point where he cried as she told her story. Each source said Anderson also told her he could take no action unless she moved forward with the accusation, presumably meaning into the legal process though possibly also meaning entering into a complaint to Mizzou — such as the one that engaged the Student Conduct Committee more recently. Anderson in no way tried to pressure her not to take it forward, each source said.

Wait what? You do know Missouri's class last year wasn't in the Top 30 right? Lulz @ great class.

Yeah, to the tune of 5th in the SEC.

Definitely and an embarrassment to the university. It is a shame the first woman was afraid to press charges.
