They have a recruiting strategy that works. They have an identity that they can recruit to. They have coordinators who are savvy enough to deploy their pieces simply yet effectively. There is a built in “safety” that Coach Stoops has where he has goals that he can reasonably meet every year and not worry (for now) about the natives getting restless. It is a program that isn’t phenomenal but certainly better than at least half of the SEC. And Missouri hasn’t beaten them since 2014. In the Vanderbilt preview I said that Drinkwitz and his staff should do everything in their power to absolutely detonate the Commodores to show an excited fan base that, yes, this time it’s different. The second test of this staff is to beat Kentucky. No, it doesn’t matter how...the Wildcats have beaten the Tigers by a lot and by a little, by being straight up better and being straight up lucky...so Drink just has to win. Maybe it’s sad that the benchmarks for the baby Tigers and this staff are lower than what we thought when we came into the SEC but this is the realistic place that this program is in and a realistic goal for the Tigers to achieve. Beat Kentucky. In the name of all that is holy, beat Kentucky and let the fan base feel good about this game once again.

So, You are not happy that Drinkwitz is making noise in the SEC to break the losing streak to Kentucky and to be on the rise to compete for the SEC east division once again!

Our losing streak to Kentucky is among the most embarrassing things about our program, and there is a long list of them

Did Mizzou ever won the SEC east division? Yes! Twice and this new HC is the right coach to make it happened to get Mizzou back to the SEC Conference Championship game in the near future.

I envy zero division titles and a .500 all time win/loss record

I was for Odom staying but every time I think about the Kentucky games I’m glad he’s gone. Talk about just blown game after blown game.

When Mizzou came to the conference I hoped we’d be able to develop a rivalry with them. So far so good.
With our renewed rivalry with UofSC and Vandy, and our occasional competitiveness with UGA, the East is fun again. UT and UF remain mental obstacles but maybe Stoops is the Coach who can get the players and fans past that.
SEC football is great and I hope UK can continue to improve within the league. It just means more.

Everyone should admire what Stoops is doing at UK. He has taken that program to its absolute ceiling. For most programs that would mean competing for a conference championship, playoffs, etc, but for Kentucky it’s 9 wins. Mizzou’s ceiling might be higher than UK, but it’s not a bad thing to admire a program that is at its peak when yours has a lot of room to grow

Kentucky is a solid program under Stoops. They aren't an easy win anymore, and they have the talent to beat anyone on any given day. Losing to UK isn't the embarrassment it used to be.

Missouri had the game 2 years ago when Mizzou was winning it and Odom blew it big time and gave the same away and Kentucky ended getting the ball back and got lucky and was given the game by the refs and also on Odom stupid mistakes during the final couple of minutes. Then last year the game was close and Odom was bad coaching that game and gave the game away. Odom was the problem. He is gone and the new HC should be a lot better.

I wouldn’t say envious, but we respect Stoops. He reminds us of GP, and a low class Kurt Ferentz, he does what he does.
You don’t play a schools history, you play their current coach and players and Stoops has built a respectable program and as a coach should the ability to flex his plan to his personnel. I was pulling for him to get the FSU job.

Odom is the worst coach when it comes to game planning. Look at MTSU, Indiana, Wyoming, vandy and UK. The dude overlooks so many teams In preparation for the following match up.

And gave up 43 to Missouri State.

We have lost a lot of close games to UK in the last few years... painful memories.
I’d even go as far to say if Odom would have had a .500 winning percentage against UK he might still be our HC (well, and beating Wyoming)

I liked BO when he was hired but he was the absolute worst with game management at the end of half/games and calling TOs...the fricking worst.
