Just curious how that came to be.

Didn’t they start out as a trucking school? Maybe that’s gravel from their first lot.

Freshmen "Paint the M"
As construction crews put the finishing touches on the new west side of Memorial Stadium, a record crowd of more than 650 students from the class of 2018 gathered to carry on a decades-old tradition of whitewashing the Rock M in the north end zone before the first football game of the season.
The Rock M was created in 1927 as a gift from the class of '27, when a group of students used leftover rocks from the building of Memorial Stadium, which opened the year before, to construct the landmark. At 90 feet wide and 95 feet high, the M requires hundreds of gallons of white paint to fully cover.
While many students used traditional painting techniques and large mops, some opted to take a more creative approach by hurling full buckets of paint down the hill.
In addition to painting the Rock M, students were invited onto Faurot Field for a photo op and to carry out another Mizzou tradition by kissing the 50 yard line.

Gotta put something there. No need to install seating that no one is going to sit in.

Doesn't matter. They're getting rid of it in their expansion.

Reminds me of the Colorado endzone. Unique but useless.

Think of it as an overflow. It pushes people to want to buy seats instead of sitting there. You can tell the crowd size typically by the amount of people sitting on the hill/Rock M

You never been to Home Depot on a Saturday, when they have those DIY tents set up out front?
White rocks are classy. They need a cutout that looks like some fat woman bending over. Those are hilarious

It's not useless. They have people do snowboarding tricks on there during halftome once it snows.

It makes sense. You can't see shite in the endzone if you are any lower than where the seats are currently.

Its actually a good place to stash my kids, if they come to a game. They're able to run around and play a little once they get antsy after halftime.

Thats too bad that they had to lose it. Nothing was saved?
