Normally I wouldnt care and would be fine but it sounds like the SEC wouldn't count it as a power conference game even tho Ole Miss is able to use it as one this year and we scheduled this when they were a power conference game. I think a home and home where Mike Leach is front in center would be more valuable as a matchup than anything else we come up with.

But the dumbass SEC wouldn't count it as one so instead I guess we will play Cal or Boston College or something that no one will care about. Thanks SEC!

Really wish the SEC had given an exemption to the P4 rule to Washington State and Oregon State.

Power 4 teams with openings in 2030-31 (there are a few that have 2030 OR 2031 open, but here are the ones with both years open)

Duke
Pittsburgh
Stanford
Syracuse
Baylor
Cincinnati
Houston*
Iowa State
Kansas State*
Oklahoma State*
West Virginia*
Illinois
Iowa
Michigan
Michigan State
Minnesota*
Oregon*
Penn State
Rutgers
USC

A few decent choices. Teams with a * are teams that we have had a somewhat recent home and home with. A unique thing we could do is get a home game with Baylor in 2030 and a road game with NC State in 2031 to make up games that were canceled for whatever reason.

This is the downside to moving to 9 SEC games. Alabama cancelled their series with West Virginia. I was planning to go to Morgantown next year. Was going to make a trip to New River Gorge as part of it.

What is going on with the PAC 12? Are they finally expanding from 2 teams next season?

Tech did Leach wrong. But the fanbase has always loved the guy. Schedule Texas Tech on these grounds. It'd make for an OoC interesting game.

We got the exemption because both USC and Wake canceled on us in less than a calendar year before the game date.

PAC 12 currently has eight CFB playing schools on line plus Gonzaga.

The teams are

Boise State
Colorado State
Fresno State
Oregon State
San Diego State
Texas State
Utah State
Washington State

My guess is Nevada will sign up... maybe UNLV. Maybe Wyoming, and the New Mexico schools. Hawaii, Air Force, and Northern Arizona might be on the table.

There has been some discussion about Montana and North Dakota State moving up.
